Purchased "used" engine per clients request, engine started "ticking" from driver's cylinder head as well as "locked up" within 60 miles. Contacted Meiko AKA ABEE Japanese Engines, spoke with Gene and upon his written as well as verbal request we removed cylinder heads to inspect for reason of failure. It was then noted that passenger side cylinder head had a lodged valve which caused the "lock-Up" and on the driver's side cylinder head, severe "gaulding" due to lack of oiling.
Notified Meiko, AKA ABEE Japanese Engines and spoke with Gene again and he opted for us to have cylinder heads machined with new valves. After repairs were done with cylinder heads, they were installed by A.S.E. Certified as well as knowledgeable technicians. Upon start-up it was noted that the "tick" was still present, notified Meiko, AKA ABEE Japanese Engines and spoke with Gene again and at that time he informed me that due to the fact that "we" (Norman Automotive) made the decision to remove cylinder heads and that he (Gene, representing Meiko, AKA ABEE Japanese Engines) did not force our hands in removing the cylinder heads.
Therefore, the warranty is null and void. Prior to removal of cylinder heads, Gene specifically told me that Meiko did not hava a replacement engine and that since the cylinder heads seemed to be the main cause of failure that he would pay for the head gasket set as well as the machine work but would not refund our monies because repair to the cylinder heads at that time was believed to be the only repair necessary. As a long, well established business owner, I have never dealt with such crookedness.
I urge anyone that is considering in purchasing a "pre-owned" engine, not to give this Meiko, AKA ABEE Japanese Engines the time of your day or your hard earned money. I have never been so disappointed in a vendor the entire length as business owner and plan to drag their name across the state of Oklahoma as well as the internet. They represent trash and sell trash with the intentions of NEVER honoring any written warranty they offer when it is clearly in this circumstance a defective/Bad Engine they sold us. Oh, as well as, this engine supposedly had less than 40 miles drive time on it, we dispute that entirely due to the FACT that looking at this engine internally there are incredible tell-tale signs that the engine not only had over 40K miles but some-one else attempted to rebuild it themselves and failed.
Just another description of their crookedness displayed. They advertise good engines and sell trash and don't honor their warranty AND let's not forget, they make loop holes as they go. The unfortunate issue here is that not only has my client been without a vehicle, his time and effort for naught, his "hard" earned monies to waste, he still does not have a vehicle to drive. To all of those reading this, thank-you for your time and DON'T BUY MEIKO'S TRASH.
