My husband and I had a loan through a similar institute, called Option 1. We decided to take care of my grandmother 24/7 and I quit my full time salaried job to do that. We did get behind in our payments, but after 2-3 months of having to "talk to the right person and the only person is so and so" we were finally able to make a western union payment of $3200 and signed a payment arrangement agreement. Not even a week or so later, we get a letter in the mail stating our loan had been sold to Ocwen and had to start all over with payment arrangements. We were told who we needed to talk to, and of course, only one person could talk to us, never available, and finally we made connections with this "person" who then told us they had no record from Option 1 that we made a payment arrangement and the $3200 payment. We fax the proof of the payment and payment arrangements to Ocwen and were trying to make payment arrangements with Ocwen. Another couple of months went by, we got served foreclosure papers, and then we talk to our designated "person", Adam Delvecchio, and he has us western union another $2400 payment and then told me that for some reason, our home was taken out of foreclosure proceedings and to call customer service and make verbal payment arrangements, that we didn't need to make any written payment arrangements. So I did that. Then, we get another letter from another attorney stating we were being foreclosed upon. I called him and according to him, we owed $144,000 vs the $130,000 it should be, and that we haven't made any payments of any kind since before August 1. I told him this was not true and he stated he could email his client but that was about it. Every 2-3 months we have gone through this same bull - with this company and we never get anywhere but further and further in debt due to their "lawyer fees, legal fees, foreclosure fees, etc., etc." We have jumped through every loophole to please them and make arrangements with them just to find ourselves in a worse position at square one. They are definitely a rip-off scamming SOB of a company! We will definitely pursue a lawsuit with others, just let us know! We feel like we are losing everything, and, this company has also ruined our credit rating due to this BS too. I also believe they falsified our 2001 tax information on the interest we paid in seems very low for what our payments are. We just seem to keep spinning our wheels and getting deeper and deeper. They also were supposedly "willing to work with us" before, now this time around, they aren't willing to work with us and are requesting our house be sold.
