My husband and I purchased a Sport Trac from Kelly Ford in Melbourne, FL. No problems with dealership. We were late on a payment due to financial hardship. We received SEVERAL telephone calls to let us know we were late with payment. When I say several calls, I mean 25 calls a day to our home, work, and family members.
They repeatedly called my husband's work. When the receptionist said he was not at his desk, they would ask for the Vice President of the building. How do they know who the vice president is and what possibly could he do about us not paying our payment.
After several calls from Ford, we finally had a chance to contact them. We work, have children, etc. It is not easy for us to call someone back from work, or home for that matter. We spoke to "Brooke" she was FINALLY very helpful and excepted our payment arrangements. We paid as agreed.
A few months later we had another battle with finances. Again, we heard from "Brooke". She was not too nice this time. She called my family members (who are listed as references) my work, my husband's work and anyone and everyone who knew us. She even was so rude to one of the nicest receptionists I have ever met at my husband's work. She finally just hung up on her.
Well, time passed and we were paying our payment and low and behold THREE hurricanes hit Florida causing fianancial burden AGAIN. We don't like being in debt, it is not something we thrive to do. AGAIN, FORD called us. This time Mr. Brad Mills, account manager harrassed us by calling our house 25 times a day. I have proof on the caller id system we have. They called our cell phone and my husband's work.
We have repeatedly told them he cannot accept personal phone calls at work, yet they still call it. Mr. Mills then called my brother and sister asking for a "reference" for my husband and myself. My family members contacted me asking why Ford was calling them. Of course, for sake of embarrassment of being in debt, I told them I didn't know why they were calling.
I finally had enough of the calls and contacted Ford. I asked to speak to Mr. Mills supervisor. They asked who was calling. I told them my first name and that's all they needed. He said he had to pull the file up so I gave him my last name. Low and behold guess who gets the call BRAD MILLS. He harrassed me basically told me I was a piece of trash for not paying my bill and laughed at me after I asked to speak to his supervisor again. After not being transferred to someone in charge I hung up on them.
My husband then called him and made payment arrangements, told them to take my family members off their list and stop calling them. He said that's all I needed to have was someone state that and they wouldn't call them. (THAT IS CRAP!!! THEY HAVE BEEN TOLD NOT TO CALL THEM BEFORE AND THEY CONTINUE TO CALL THEM).
I have filed a claim with the Federal Trade Commision about this company. I am completely FED UP with them. I am also looking into attorney's to file a lawsuit against them. A person who is having financial difficulties should not have to put up with terrible and harrassing phone calls from Ford Motor Credit.
Yes, it is my responsibility to pay them for the truck we have, however, we should not have to receive 25 calls a day when we are late on a payment.
I also filed a customer complaint with Ford and they said they could not do anything about it because my account was marked for non-payment and I had to contact the Tampa office. Once again, Mr. Mills sent me an e-mail immediately after I filed a customer complaint with Ford. I never gave him my e-mail address, so the customer complaint department forwarded the message to them. CROOKED PEOPLE!!!
Is there anyone else in the state of Florida who has received this kind of treatment from Ford. PLEASE LET ME KNOW.
