I financed a 2007 ford focus from suters barstow after my old car was toataled in sept.
I thought i got a good rate at 12% considering and drove off that day with a 36 month loan and payment of 228.
I week later suatars called and said they have good news and that i have better terms to come down and sign new contract.
I was on my way to work at the time and told the finance manager when i got there that i need to get to work.
He said sign here and told me my payment was 217 not 228 and i was on my way.
When i recieved the contract i was shocked the payment was not 217 but 334 and the rate was not 12% but 18.99% what i ripoff.
Bye the way i still have the original contract with the 228 and 12.99% which i am going to use as a bargaing trip. I could have fought it at the time and should have but i had alot of important issues to deal with at the time.
I lost my job of almost 3 years in sept 14 which i didnt mind since the company contract expires at the beginnng of 2012 and is not getting renewed.
I immediately after out processing moved to bullhead city az sept 21 as this is where i wanted to retire at this time i only had 12 months left to pay on the car and payments were being taking out automatiacally so i thought.
I did not get internet service up at the new location till recently and had alot of issues to deal with the va and other important isues since barstow post office did niot tranfer my mail after personally submitting a change of address card.
I treid on nov 15 to contact capital one to inform them not to take the auto payment out and could not get through any any of the 800 numbers i used my social to access since i have never recieved any account information or number. I only have the two dealer cotracts.
On the afternoon of nov 16 a lady knocked at my door and she was here to repossess my car for non payment and i was stunned. I told her that payments were supose to be automatically taken and told her i was trying to get ahold of them to no longer auto pay from the account that i have an alternate.
When i contacted capital one i told them that the repo people are still here and the rep said that the bank has returned the payments for the last 3 months and dont i keep track of it. I told her that am just getting situated and just got my internet service up and was unaware that i was behind.
I asked the rep if i was behind why i was never notified by mail, phone, or email.
She said they tried and mail was returned and she said my phone was disconnected which i thought was strange. The only time my cell was out of service was for a few hours early october when i was getting an upgrade.
Capital one had my old barstow po box 722 and once again barstow screws up as in nov i personally put in a change of address card transfering my mail from the p.O. Box to my physical address in barstow.
I am suppose to call reinstatement in the morning and by reading the other rip off reports it dont look good.
I only have 2 months of payments i can pay with the alternate source and fond out why the other payments were returned.
My bank was paying to a company that i did not authorize and trying to figure out how they got my bank information as those funds were allocated for my car payment. That co is under investigation and has an f rating with the BBB.
