Backed Out of Contract, Strong Armed and said buy warranty or no deal, Crooked, Dishonest. Wasted 6 hours of my day

I visited Showcase Honda on 10/12 to test drive a 2008 White Saturn Vue the dealership had on the lot. I was there for 6 hours, signed all my papers, agreed on $15,500 out the door for the vehicle and 5 minutes before the keys were handed over, the finance business manager Aaron Morrison decided to tell me that the sales manager Aldo was under the assumption that I was getting that deal but assumed I was going to buy the $2400 warranty. After sending several different sales people in the office the last 5 minutes, they told me that either I buy the warranty or no deal on the Vue. Aaron then said that the sales manager and sales consultant do not wish to speak to me. Aaron also said that I should just buy the warranty today and cancel it tomorrow which I said sounds very crooked. I left the office and went to find Michael who said what Aaron and the others tried to pull 5 minutes before I was the owner of the car was not right.

The background of the story: After the test drive, I decided I was interested in talking price for the Vue. When Michael Stransky first went to his boss Aldo, we wrote down on the initial interest form $15,500 and I want this car and had me sign it to show Aldo I was serious in wanting to buy the Vue. Aldo came back at $16,200 plus $700 down which I turned down and said I was looking for $15,500 out the door or I am not interested. Aldo came out of his office with Michael with the Quote to Purchase worksheet and agreed to sell the Vue for $15,500 out the door with no money down. I signed the agreement and Aldo made sure he told me multiple times how lucky I was that I got that deal and that I lucked out because by giving me that deal they were losing $2,647.94.

I asked if the Vue came with the standard 5 yr/100k mile powertrain coverage and Michael said no because of dealership did not want to pay for it. Then I asked if they offer extended warranties and if it was something I needed to purchase today or that I can take home and purchase in 2 weeks. Michael said I do not need to purchase a warranty today and the option is mine. He said that if I wait to purchase it later, I can finance the warranty at zero percent. I took the information he gave me on the warranties and told him that I wanted to take this home to discuss with my boyfriend before making a decision. I signed a bunch of disclaimers and papers before walking over to the finance department. I waited over 45 minutes before being helped by Aaron Morrison, the finance business manager. He started right in on all the different warranties and coverage, including GAP, tire protection, paint protection, theft protection, etc. And after discussing them all and insisting that I need all of them because I live in Arizona.

Without asking if I was interested in any of them, he prints out a large contract that shows my original agreed purchase total of $15,500 and then added on every single warranty and coverage he just discussed and told me that with all this my new payment is just under $400 and please sign right here. I said I do not want any of these warranties which he responded, it doesn't make any sense, you need these living in Arizona. I said I am not interested and even caught him marking I was interested in the GAP coverage form. He then went onto the extended warranties which I told him I am not purchasing at this time. I said that I already spoke to Michael and that I was going to take the literature home with me so my boyfriend can take a look with me. He asked if my boyfriend was the one who made the payments every time I needed to bring my old SUV, Mercedes ML 430 into the shop which I replied no. He then said, then you don't need your boyfriend to make a decision about which warranty you should buy.

I said either way, I just want the car at the price I agreed on and no warranty. He then got up and said, I promise, we will be done in 5-10 minutes. This is when he came back and said that the only way they will sell the car is if I buy the warranty today. If not, no deal. I left with a portion of my signed paperwork and would never do business with them again. They were very dishonest and tried to strong arm me thinking they can push around another young woman.

I took the papers and got into the SUV I drove in and started to back out.in my rear view mirror I was being stopped by yet another Fleet Manager who said, " Look, you are getting this car for a steal. Just buy the warranty today and cancel it tomorrow. Michael is new and I am trying to help him out." Once again, I said no and that sounds very crooked and I left.
