Our VW bug required an electrical repair in 2010. While the repair was
being done, the tech knocked out the left headlight, then used some sort
of putty to put the light back together and stuck it back in. Not the
wait the light should have been repaired: it should have been replaced
when he broke it. A few weeks later, the headlight fell out and the
putty repair became obvious. I called the service
manager, who told me that the next time the car was in for service,
they would replace the headlight. The service manager told me he would
make a note in my account so this would not be an issue. Today, my wife
took the car in for service. The person she spoke to not only denied
that such an agreement had ever been made, but not claimed the original
service had never been done. If he was being truthful, then the repair
record associated with my 2010 repair has been deleted. If not, then he
was just trying to screw us. Either way, it is dishonest. Herman Cook VW
now wanted $300 or so for the repair for an issue they created.
