I would like to lodge a complaint against American Towing in Winslow, Arkansas, 20954 S. Highway 71, Winslow, AR 72959.
On Friday, July 29th, my daughter (who is 19) and a few of her friends were on Interstate 540 headed to Fayetteville, Arkansas. About 1 mile before the Bobby Hopper Tunnel, my car (Mercury Montego) broke down. My daughter called me immediately and I immediately called Kens Towing in Ozark, AR. They proceeded to my vehicle (about 40 miles away) to pick it up. Meanwhile, the Arkansas State Police called American Towing. American Towing picked my vehicle up and locked it up in their facility in Winslow, Arkansas. Kens towing called them, talked to a man named Tracy, and was informed the impound/towing/lock-up fee would be $262.00!!!
That is most definitely price gouging. The fee is completely TOO MUCH and literally
highway robbery. Kens towing agreed with me and felt they were taking advantage of me and over-charging.
Please take this information seriously and investigate this company.
