Do not use them!!! Save yourself the headache & drama and find a licensed broker.
I contacted CHRIS MYERS who stated he was the broker and owner of MYERS AUTO SALES, INC. I was looking to buy an auction truck to repair and use for my business. I had to give him $400 cash which would cover the auction fee. After winning a truck on a Thursday I was told to bring him the money since he was the broker. At his office on Friday I was told that I had to drive 45 mins to Miami to pay the auction copart myself where I again had to pay the auction fee and the truck can be picked up the same day.
To ship the vehicle I was told if I use his broker it would be $500 and I would have it in 4-5 days which means that Friday at the latest. The title he said would be there before the truck. Friday Chris Myers called to say bring him $650 for shipping not $500. I was over charged "because it was a p/u truck not a car". He told me to "hurry up" because it should be there in an hour. I left work and brought $660 and had to yell at him to give me a receipt or give me back my money because I was not leaving without one. I was never able to get $10 change back. He put it on the invoice as "vehicle purchase price."
Friday I was told it would be there in an hour. That Friday the truck never came. Saturday it never came nor did it come on Sunday. Chris Myers stated the his "broker tow truck driver" doesn't deliver on Sundays and had it down in Miami. I am self employed and had to reschedule several home improvemnet jobs waiting around on the truck, had a tow truck on standby the entire weekend that also had to be paid.
Monday he texted me and told me it was there and tried to charge my husband another $40 for picking it up in Miami (he refused to pay). I had it towed to a mechanic and body shop for repairs. The owner of the shop said who ever had the truck cut off the exhaust system and several other parts underneath the truck. He showed me several cuts underneath that were clean and shiny not rusty and filthy like the rest of it. He says those are too fresh to sit in an auction without getting nasty.
Long story short still no title two weeks later. CHRIS MYERS stated he doesnt know where the title is and needs to call the broker. He is not a registered broker. His brother Peter Myers fronts the business for him. I called the auction, Copart, mysellf with an attorney I work with and the title clerk stated the title was delivered by the driver on Friday July 15th. However, I didn't gain posession of the truck until Monday July 18th. If I didn't have it than where was it?
For the next week I was jerked around. I had to threaten to file complaints, file a civil lawsuit if I didn't meet with the broker and get the title. I met with Peter Myers on Saturday who said we have to do it Monday becuase the "people he uses are at that tag agency and it's closed." Again I had to wait until Monday. Monday I met with Peter and was not able to get a receipt and had to pay in cash so again it was reset.
I finally got the title from someone by the name of Milton Grant who is also not a broker. I was unable to get a fast title because the only person that could do that was the registered agent Peter Myers, Not Milton Grant or Chris Myers. Peter Myers refused to answer his phone.
I will be following up with several more complaints with state agencies.
I had to do the leg work. I had parts freshly cut off the truck. I was overcharged on shipping by $150. I was unable to get my little $10 change for the overcharged transport fee from CHRIS MYERS. It took me much longer to get the truck than I was told. It took me 2 1/2 weeks to get a title receipt.
Chris myers is a cheap f* who drives a 2 door blue nissan that he is too big to fit in with four different tires and cloths too small! (his gut hangs out & his pants are too tight!) no wonder he has to scrap together anything he can. Maybe he saw my e350 benz and thought i was a sucker...
