Customer Carole Conway arrived at Americar Finance located on 3611 Broadway Street, Houston TX 77017, to purchase a 2002 Chevy Impala ($6,995). After purchasing the vehicle, Carole was notified that she could not receive the keys to the vehicle until she obtained full coverage insurance. The dealer, Hector Martinez, contacted a neighboring insurance agent who then came to the dealership to give Ms. Conway full coverage on the car. After a 5 hour ordeal at Americar Finance, Carole headed to her residence in North Houston. On the way, the battery light illuminated shortly followed by the security light. When she arrived home, she placed the car in park, turned off the ignition, and attempted to restart the car. The car would not start. Looking at the key, she realized that it was not a Chevy original. It was a copy. Carole then contacted Hector, and he drove to her home to attempt to resolve the issue. After hours of trying, the dealer towed the car back to the dealership at 9:30PM Saturday night. Sunday morning, Carole called to receive an update. Hector informed her that their mechanic, Henry, was working on the car and says it was the security light that prevented the car from starting. Carole calls back Sunday afternoon, and Henry informs her that the car needs a new ignition. On Monday a new ignition was installed and the car still will not start. Carole purchased the car on Saturday 7/16 and is still without a vehicle on Tuesday 7/19. She expressed to the Dealer that she needs a car for work and would be willing to use a loaner car. Her request was denied. She then asks for a full refund. Her request again was denied until proper paperwork could be completed. This dealership is NOT reputable business. Cars in this condition should not be sold to customers. Stay away from Americar Finance.
