What would you do? They sold me a lemon to the definition of a lemon

I am writing you in reference to my 2004 Chevy Trailblazer in which I purchased on May 20th of 2008 from Blaynes Dealership in Albuquerque, NM. When I purchased the vehicle I drove it home which is about 8 miles from the dealership.in this time the car was garaged and then when going to drive the vehicle the next day to work a Check Engine Light came on.

I immediately called the dealership and spoke with Kathy, the office manager, who said to bring it in on the next day. We took the car in first thing in the morning which was at 8:00am, the following day. We were never offered a loaner car or anything while they had the Trailblazer. We were assured that the car would be fixed and ready for pick up that same evening, after 7pm. When calling to find out if it was ready, instead of making a wasted trip, we were told that the Trailblazer wouldn't be ready for another day. Two days later the car was ready for pick up. When picking up the automobile we were assured that everything was ok.

Then next day, driving to work, not even exiting the subdivision in which we live, the same light came on. We called the dealership and were told to bring it in as soon as possible, in which I did, and they at my request did give me a loaner car. This was in no way close to the size of vehicle that I had given them for repair. The loaner car that they gave me said, Maintenance required every time that you turned it on. Whenever I or my husband would call they would say that I was only to deal with one person and not to believe anything I was told by anyone else. So I would always get the run around about the vehicle and when it would be done. When I was told that it was done and I could pick it up. We went to pick up the car approximately 5 days later, the car wasn't there. No one knew where it was. The only person who was there was Dennis in Finance, we were told that we were picked up by the worst bank and that they were doing us a favor. And that Any other dealer would have told us to take a hike. However, on our paperwork in which we signed it says that there is an Implied Warranty considering that we had not seen any paperwork from the bank about the loan or the amount financed. The next day were told that the car was ready and that they were doing us a favor and detailing the car. We picked it up and I proceeded to work.

I work less than 4 miles from the dealership. After picking up the car, and going to work the car sat for approximately 8 hours, when getting into the automobile and then starting it, the light immediately came on. At this time the dealership was closed. My husband called that morning when the office manager was there and was told to bring it back. I took it that morning after dropping my son off at school. I was then given a loaner car at my request again, which this time was a Dodge Stratus. This had no fuel either. I drove that car to work and we had this loaner for 2 days in which my husband contacted the manager, Bryan. Bryan assured my husband that we would have this issue fixed and resolved. The Dodge Stratus on the second day, had a dead battery.in which my husband had to get jumped. The manager said he wanted us to give them another chance to get it fixed. We did and still not resolved, drove the car home and it was ok for about 2 days and then the light came on, again.

This time my husband was told to deal only with Bryan the manager. When the light came back on, my husband asked for the automobile to be taken to a neutral mechanic down the street.in which the manager said that he was going to talk to the repair shop and to see why they have to replace the same part, and to find out why the issue couldn't be fixed. When he spoke with my husband, my husband advised the manager to keep the car and drive it himself and see if the light came back on, sure enough the light came back on. This time for the manager. The manager said that now that he has seen it for himself he would get it fixed. He said that he found out that after the car was being detailed that they were setting it off, with a power washer.in this entire time the car has only been detailed ONE time. So how is the power washer setting it off? In this time we were given a Chevy Colbalt, which was empty as well. We know have had the loaner car for about 5 days before we are told that it is fixed. We go and get the car and are assured over 100 percent that the light will not come back on. The light comes back on within 2 days of picking it up.

We have since suffered an excess of lectures and calls about how they are doing us a favor and how any other dealership wouldn't go this far. Per the issue not being resolved we placed a stop payment on the down payment of 1500.00 based on the fact that the issue with the automobile isn't fixed yet, also now they are saying that we cannot have our license plates until the down payment has been paid. I am incredibly frustrated about the fact that we have gotten no where with the dealership, even though they have been paid for the vehicle.
