I usually go to the Wal-Mart store in Paris, Texas to do my oil changes because they are very customer oriented and speedy.
I saw that I needed one and was right beside the store in Clarksville, Tx. They had a sign that said "Oil Change $11.99." I also noted that my car was a bit dirty inside so I asked them if they offered a vacuum service as well. They told me that they could vacuum the car for me. I told my wife that that was a good price for an oil change so I said OK and gave them the keys.
After shopping for about an hour I went back to the auto shop and told them my name and was presented a bill for $18.99 plus tax.
I asked why was the bill $7.00 more than the amount on the sign and it seems that my asking for the vacuuming my order had been marked as the "Premium Service" for $18.99.
I asked them why they didn't tell me that vacuuming my car was going to cost me $7.00 more. They said that it was on the sign and that they didn't have to.
Talking to the manager did not help. I was getting pretty upset so I figured I had better just pay the bill and leave because I wasn't going to be heard. Customer service sucks ever since Sam Walton died.
