I bought a 98 mustang gt 4.6l in october with 67000 miles on it, ran great, no problems what so ever, been really taken good care of.
Last week the lower intake manifold split at the seams, and with it costing 894.00 to repair this, i started checking out the recalls, just to see if we had this for recall.
I found out the same year model engines of the 4.6l 96-98 all have the same problem.
I searched the internet for more people like me having the same problem.
I called ford motor company and they told me my vin did not match the recall.
I am having a problem with this, because it is the same exact part they recalled on some cars, but didn't on others, mine in split in the seam, would that not make this a manufacturers default too? If any on has had this same trouble with the 4.6l engine that ford so graciously put a plastic intake manifold on, please feel free to contact me, with your story.
I will be forwarding emails of all the intake manifold problems, straight to dearborn mi. Please email me your story.
