Findlay Cadillac - Saab findlay cadillac offers lying salespersons fraudulent used car certification and poor finance department customer service

I must advise all car buyers to avoid working with Findlay Cadillac. Salesperson Terry Sherman lied to my wife Katharyne and I by failing to order parts for our 2002 Cadillac Escalade.

Mr Sherman stated repeatedly that the part (custom wheel hub) would be ordered (after we bought the SUV) and repeatedly stated that "the part was being shipped by UPS and would be here shortly". Six weeks later we discovered the part was never ordered, and it was only thanks to the diligence of the Service department that the wheel hub was located. This required numerous calls to the dealership, as well as three seperate 50 mile round trips to the dealer - all unnecessary.

Diane is the finance department has cost us over $100 per month in unnecessary interest payments on our car loan. While we do not have perfect credit, we were pre-approved by GMAC @ 13.75% for a Hummer by Parkway Hummer in Santa Clarita, CA. We decided we wanted to buy a Escalade instead, and were told by Diane that WFS financial was the only company that would "buy" our loan - at a whopping 18.9% rate! We are now forced to apply for refinance, with no guarantee for approval! Isn't Cadillac a GMAC product? Should not every customer (even with marginal credit) be run through GMAC???

The used car certification process at the dealership was a Joke! The vehicle was delivered to us with the front wheels completely out of alignment - again requiring another early morning appointment and a 50 mile drive to the dealership to fix something that should have been handled before delivery.

Incedentily, we did NOT receive special discounts or incentives to buy this SUV. Mr. Sherman "tried" to get us a discount off the asking price, but the price, we were told was "not negotiable" because the price did not include "certifying" the vehicle! The vehicle, a 2002 with only 25K miles was merely
"certifiable"!! Hence, hidden acquisition costs!

Finally, at the contract signing we were told for the first time about the "non-negotiable" $450 title fees! Additionally, smogging the vehicle costs $50, when I can go down the street and pay $20!! Again, inflated and hidden costs presented to us only after we had paid a deposit to hold the vehicle!

Last month we went to try to informally resolve the above complaints with Daunne in the Customer Service Department. While she was patient and agreed we had valid complaints, ultimately she was powerless to help us, and has left us to fend for ourselves.

While I can give high marks to the Findlay Service department, I must give the dealership sales, finance, and sales management team an F! Do not buy an vehicle from Findlay Cadillac.
