On November 11, my husband and me went to Spradley Barr to purchase another vehicle. We decided on a 2003 Ford, Crown Vic. Our salesman, Matt told us that the molding on the front outside of our car would be fixed the following day. He would have a mobile unit sent to our house to fix it. Part of the carpet on the driver's door was to be fixed and a small scratch on the hood.

The repairs were to be fixed the following day. None of this has happened. We signed a contract to purchase our car on November 11. Eighteen days later the dealership contacts us and has us come in to "re-do" the contract telling us that they had problems getting us financed. We come in to their office and are given a lady whom we didn't know, were told to sign the paperwork since they couldn't get us financing through several other people. I asked if everything was the same and she said yes.

Afterwards, I asked what our payments were and were told over $700.00. I then asked what the finance charge was and was told "didn't Dana tell you?" The finance charge had jumped from 4.95 to 11%. We contacted the BBB feeling that we had been ripped off with the deal we received and attempted to work it out with the dealership. My complaint was their poor service, which the sales mgr. Tried to humor us and tell us we could now have another vehicle to use while they fixed things. This is after almost three months.

I cancelled all of my service contracts and Spradley Barr then tried to get my banker in trouble saying that she told us to cancel so she could sell us products. The credit union I bank with doesn't sell products. When we were purchasing products from Spradley Barr we were shown a menu with prices. The one in particular we picked showed approximately @$700.00 for the package.

After we complained to the BBB we now have a copy of the handwritten amount of each thing. Spradley Barr didn't disclose this to us in the beginning. They orginally charged us $2686 for a service contract but added in a maintainance charge of $995., which was part of the package.in the contract it looks to be $3,681.00 to the Ford Motor Co, and then in the spot for service contract. They hid this in the price of the service contract even though this was supposed to be a "purchased package". Spradley Barr told us that the inflated base price was what we had purchased.

If this is true then why is the $995 hidden into the service contract that was less? Now that we cancelled the service contract we are only getting the $2686 back? Spradley Barr knew we wished to go through our bank and not the credit union member direct. My credit union is going to refinance the vehicle back to 4.95%. I believe that Spradley Barr intentionally deceived us and then when they got caught continued to lie. We will NEVER purchase anything from them again and won't recommend them to anyone. Their service stinks!!!
