"Steps" on the "Little Guy", What a "Rip-Off" I think it's ashame that you have to endure so much trouble just to get what should have been offered in the first place! Washington, District of Columbia

Geico has indicated that they are accepting reliability for an accident caused by a person insured by them, but that they are not going to offer me what I would consider to be an appropriate or acceptable restitution.

They have indicated that they will be offering me only a little more than 1/2 of what I paid for my car only a few short month's ago which was in October. They are indicating that they will be basing their figures on what they called a "Local Market Survey" (Surely these must be examples of "Peices of junk" that other people are tring to get rid of, or something, because of the hugh difference in prices and that they are comming up with and what, say for instance, the Kelly Blue Book value estimated when I went online with them). The Kelly Blue book value for my car is within a few hundred dollars of what I paid for my car.

The amount that they are offering isn't enough to even come close to paying off what I still owe on the vehicle, and so I will be left with no means of transportation for doing the work that I do, and will still have to make payments on something that I don't even own or have anymore, and still try and support myself and my family. How...?

They have insulted me by insinuating that I'm an idiot for being "taken to the cleaners" (by paying too much) by the "Reputable Dealer" where I purchased my vehicle.

I doesn't seem like they would bother considering the "Excellent" condition that "my" car was in at the time of my purchase and in which I continued to maintaned my car in. Most people thought I was driving a "NEW" car and for example: The synthetic oil was "clean as a whistle" then and had continued to be maintaned with synthetic oil, to ensure the minimal amout of "wear and tear", everywhere you could look, it was obvious that the car had been kept in "Imaculate and Perfect" condition.

Nevertheless, I just think it would be great if they would make an offer of resonable restitution for the loss that I've incurred as a result of this accident. Or even why they couldn't ask me what I think they can do to provide resonable restitution for the losses I've incured. All I want is what is fair.

At this point in time, I have now suffered mental anguish and have suffered anxiety, sleepless nights worrying and trying to figure out how I'll be able to provide for myself and my family after suffering the losses they are explaining.

I guess I might as well point out that I'm a widower with 3 children that I solely support and provide for. I've chosen to be self employed so that I can care for my children better by having the flexibility to take them to the doctor or dentist, these types of things. Therefore I do not make a lot of money and we live quite modestly, but do have the necessity's. I simply cannot forsee how I will manage after suffering the loss that Geico seems to be trying to allow...

The accident was not my fault, and I'm having to suffer...?

This accident occured on Feb 2 in a small town where I live. The police report indicates a citation being issued to the insurer of Geico. There were witnesses that came forward and are mention in the police report as well...

I was initially told by Anita Bennett (on the monday following the accident) that it could possibly take up to 30 days, "not that it WOULD take that long, but that it could", just for them to determine if this person was even involved in this accident, and that they have not be able to contact this person yet.By that afternoon a copy of the police report had been faxed to their location.

The next I had difficulty in contacting Anita and it was explaned that it could take some time for the fax to be sent through their "internal" delevery system and then, by that afternoon though, my claim was actually then being transfered to a different dept, and I would have to wait to even find out who that would be now handling my case. I insisted on staying on the phone with them untill something was determined so that I could possibly get a rental car soon, so that I could work. The "new" representative from Gieco did indicate that he ended up working quite late so that I would be able to get a rental car the following day.

I think it's ashame that you have to endure so much trouble just to get what should have been offered in the first place...!

Many times Geico (representatives of Geico) mentioned that I may need to rely on my insurance to provide some of the things that they obviously were not willing to provide, including the rental car.

I have been told by Sherrie Scott at 903-235-4291, (Her Cell #, she's explained and identified as a Gieco Adjuster, the person that evaluated my car as being a "total") that they will probably be using the "Local Market Survey" to base thier paymet to me, as I have explained ubove, and that on Monday, Feb 9th she will officailly make me the offer and that she WILL be ABLE to extend the use of the rental car that they have provide for a total of 2 more days. I don't know how it would be reasonable to think that this could be considered acceptable in any way...!
