In October I purchased a 96 Saturn from Carzone Inc in Webster Florida. The car was overpriced for the year and mileage, but I needed a vehicle with great gas mileage. I financed at. 001 % less than the legal limit.
I proceeded to make my payments to the company in the form of checks, including 2 payments every month so I would be ahead and not have to worry about getting a check out twice a month.
This month I wrote my check and put it in a an envelope to mail, to my horror I had to watch my car being repossessed. The repo "men" said I was 7 days behind in my payments. I was not notified of this, I was not called, sent a letter or even e-mailed that I was behind, despite their assurances that they would be in touch if there were any problems. I now have to get my car from repossesion, and extra 250 dollars, as well as find a ride to go get it. While they were perfectly in their rights to take my car for being 7 days late ONCE, they are a scam, they will do anything including put a GPS tracking device on your car.
This company has taken advantage of me all through my ordeal with them. I need a car with great gas mileage since I commute over 80 miles to and from work everyday and that makes me a target. They should NOT be allowed to repossess a car without some form contact with the owner of the vehicle. I strongly feel they thought they could repo the car and resell it for the same price I paid making more money for themselves.
I am a hardworking person who ALWAYS pays her bills and if there is any consumer group out there working for reform in this area please let me know I would be happy to throw my support into this matter.
Thank you
