This is fairly straightforward. Downtown Nissan listed a truck for sale on internet. I had been shopping for same model/year for about a month and their listing met my needs. I had several contacts by e-mail with their sales team. I knew right away that I wanted this truck and asked the sales team to provide me with the "out-the-door" (tax, title, license) price (in writing) which I accepted without further discussion. These exchanges happened about 7pm MST and Downtown Nissan is on PST (one hour earlier). I indicated to sales team that I intended to purchase the vehicle for the price given and would bank transfer the full amount the following morning because banks in my time zone were closed. I am pretty sure the banks in their time zone were closed too. I contacted the sales team by both phone and e-mail at 9am MST while at my bank preparing to transfer funds. Downtown Nissan sales department had not yet opened. Shortly after they opened at 9:00am PST I received an e-mail from sales team that the previous price had now gone up by an additional $1200.00. I indicated to them I was still interested in the truck, but, wanted an explanation as to why the sudden price increase had occurred. The next message I recieve from them reflects that the truck had been sold and was no longer available. I asked the sales team member to please forward me the contact information of the person at their Nissan dealership who handles customer complains/satisfaction and they would not reply. I have saved the e-mail logs that document the above exactly as stated and will be posting them at Car-trader.com, Auto-trader.com, Cars.com and other consumer feedback type forums.
There are plenty of car dealers out there. Save yourself a lot of hassle and don't deal with these Jackaloons.
