Ripoff did not notify me of a defective head gasket problem on my car. Ford Program: 00M10, I should not be hurt by their neglect and denial

I have a 1995 Ford Thunderbird, built at the Lorain Assembly Plant, with a blown head gasket and have been told that Ford will not cover it. It will cost $1300.00 to $1500.00.

I also have a copy of a Ford Motor Company letter of notification to all Ford and Lincoln Mercury Dealers stating that there would be coverage for this problem for and extended period of 7 years after original warranty or 100,000 miles, which ever came first. Well, my car is past the allowed 7 years, BUT, it has only approx. 45,000 miles on it and I have been told basically: too bad!

This information was not made public. I did not receive any letter informing me that there was additional coverage on my vehicle for 7 YEARS, which would have indicated to me that I should have it checked out.

When I spoke this morning to a representative from Ford's "Customer Satisfaction" department I was given one lie after another. The gentleman told me there was no recal or notification for this problem. Then I gave him the program ref. Number, when I did, he then did an about face on his knowledge of the problem. He took my VIN. Then told me that that problem did not apply to my car. I then read him that: "All 1994 and 1995 model year Thunderbird Super Coupe vehicles equipped with the 3.8L engine and built at the Loraine Assembly plant from June 15,1993 through July 20,1995." were included. My car was built at that time and at that Plant.

He proceeded to tell me that the notice was probably sent to the previous owner, that did't work because the previous owner is a friend of mine and she would have told me about any notice. He then tried to tell me that it must have been the fault of the mail carrier... Now he's blaming the U.S. Government. Funny thing about that is that I know from other mailings that I have received over the years that Ford Motor has my name, address and vehicle information on file. So I asked him to pull a copy of that letter of notification that was "mailed" to me and fax it to me. He told me no, Ford doesn't keep those.

This conversation went on for the better part of an hour, I asked him for the name of his superior, he said he didn't have one and his word was final. I asked him for the name of someone who could tell me why I had additional coverage on my car and was not informed, again he said there was no one, his word was final, that I could not speak to any one else, then he hung up.

This problem should be covered by Ford Motor Company, they obviously knew about it a long time ago. I should not be hurt by their neglect and denial. The public should have been informed.
