Danvers Mitsbushis service department caught in out right lie about working on vehichle

I would like to report that I experienced several problems with the Danvers Mitsubishi car dealership. A few years back I purchased a Mitsubishi Diamante from this dealership. Along with the purchase of the vehicle I bought an extended bumper to bumper warranty to cover the vehicle for 100,000 miles.

The problem started when I started my engine one morning and heard a terrible loud sound in the engine. The vehicle was still able to be driven, so I took it to the dealership for them to look it over. At that time the car was left for several days. When I finally returned to pick up the car and was told by the Service Manager (Fred) that they found no problems with the vehicle. Upon getting into my car, I realized it was still parked in the same place I had left it and the mileage had not moved one bit. I knew they had lied.

Again the following week, I called up very upset and informed them I wanted the car looked at again. I brought the vehicle in on Thursday and dropped it off. Thursday after at roughly 4:00p. M I got a call stating they did not find anything wrong with the car. I thought it to be odd, as there was an obvious 'knock' coming from the engine and loud sound that I heard had to be something serious. I asked that they keep the vehicle another day and let me know if they are able to hear (it was an obvious sound) or find the problem.

Upon driving home from work that night, I was sooo disappointed in there previous service/lie, that I decided to go back to the dealership and pick up my car on Thursday evening after the Service Manager had left.

It was a huge surprise to me when I received a call from the Service Manager (Fred) the next day at again 4:00pm. Here are the details of the call:

Fred (Service Manager): CK, we worked on your car today and again did not find anything wrong with that vehicle.

CK: Are you sure you worked on my car

Fred (Service Manager): Oh yes

CK: Who specifically worked on it

Fred (Service Manager): Our head mechanic 'Leo' check it out and found nothing. I was also there with him and do not hear or see any problem with your engine.

CK: Your sure you worked on my car right? Well you are the biggest 'Liar', I have ever met. I picked up my car yesterday evening. So who's car were you working on, today?

Fred: ah, oh, ah, well, Leo told me he worked on your car today.

CK: Now you are saying that Leo told you. Just a few minutes ago you stated you were there with him when he looked it over

Needless to say I was extremely upset and I caught the Service Manager in an out right lie. Once again! I just couldn't believe my ears.

In any event, I brought the car to another shop. Had them open up the engine to find the problem which was related to the rocker arm and the engine requiring a rebuild. I then towed the vehicle to them with the engine apart so that they could clearly see the problem. It was sooo obvious, had they just taken the time to look for it.

Since the engine was covered under warranty they did a partial rebuild of the engine. This again I was upset about, because I was told they did a complete engine rebuild. When I brought it to my reliable mechanic he informed me they only rebuilt the upper part of the engine and not the bottom part (which is the part that actually caused the 'oil compression' problem and led to the rocker arm issue).

I just want to clearly state that this dealership 'Danvers Mitsubishi' provide horrible horrible horrible service and have lied on more than one occasion. I would recommend you check your mileage before you drop your car off, as you may find they don't do nothing with it while it's there for 3 days and incoveniencing you.

Signed,

An extremely upset customer of Danver's Mitsubishi
