I came in contact with Paul Rosensteel and Delivery Xpress through an ad he placed on Craigslist regarding his moving company business. We spoke by phone and agreed on an hourly rate and date of move. March 6. Mr. Rosensteel asked for a $200.00 deposit to hold the date. He met my boyfriend at his place of employment where he took posession of the check. He later cashed it on February 10. On March 4 he called me and said that his large truck had broken down, but that he & his 4 man crew would still be coming to Ohio to move me to Pittsburgh Pa. On March 6th. They would be coming with a smaller truck and his SUV. Stating that he would make 2 trips if necessary. He also adjusted the hourly rate for the inconvenience. He said he had been in the business for 25 years and that he would get the job done. He agreed to be at my home on March 6th between 9-9:30 AM. Needless to say... On March 6th he nor any of his crew showed up. NO ONE CAME OR CALLED! We began calling him at 9:30 am and left voice mails. We continued to call him until mid evening and he NEVER returned any of our calls to explain why they did not show on my moving day. I had to rent a U-Haul truck and pay friends of my brother's to move me that day since my house was fully packed up. This entailed me paying for the truck, paying the workers, paying all the gas, tolls & food. This ended up costing me more money than I had planned and pushed my move in date to much later in the day than planned. We continued to call Mr. Rosensteel for days following the incident and finally after days & days of calling he did answer our phone call after we used someone else phone with a number he did not recognize. He agreed to meet and return my $200.00. His excuse was his trucks broke down and he did NOT have my money. He had obviously spent it. He called back and cancelled the meeting date as he said he was waiting to out of town check to clear. That was 2 weeks ago and even though I call him daily on his cell number demanding my money, he will NOT return any of my calls or any calls my boyfriend makes to him. So what has happened here is that he took my $200.00, kept it, spent it, did NOT do the work and now he won't call us back or return my money. I would recommend that if you hire this company or this man to do your move you act cautiously as it seems as if he can not be trusted. I feel that I have been a victim of a scam or otherwise known as theft by deception. I was hoping that he would do the decent thing and return my money. He did NOT provide any service and therefore he stold $200.00 from me.
