In early April I bought a used 1997 Dodge caravan. I needed a dependable car to get my disabled mother back and forth to her doctors. She had been diagnosed with cancer in her bladder and knew surgrey would soon be comming. We had to sell our home of 22 years, due to the death of my father late Sept. mom and I could not afford the high payments.

We had just closed escrow, and needed a car we could depend on to make the long trip to the doctors 3 times a month. (about 150 miles round trip). I had told the salesperson at the dealership what I wanted and why. He told me about a van that had just been traded in about 3 days pryor. I asked to see it I liked it. They told me the price was $11,500.00 I told them that was to high. I had only $10,000.00 to spend. They droped the price so I could afford it.

They said that I would have to wait to take possion of the van as they had to put it through a safty check. I waited 5 days, they called and said the van was ready. That was April 10 The van had high miles, (114,600) I was reasured after the safty inspection that I had purchsed a dependable car that should hold up at least another 3 to 4 years.

I have now had the van 1 year and 3 months. I had to return the van 2 times for a problem with the power stiring before they fixed it right. That was still in the month of April and early May. I have been through 6 transmissions had to replace the front rotors and breaks in less than 6 months of purchesing the van. I feel that these things should have showed up when Dodge did the safty check on the van befor I purchased it. It has caused us to miss doctors appointments that should not have been missed. I have been stranded in a small town for 2 days due to Dodges poor transmissions. I have had to replace the cv boot and the break pads 4 times since owning the van.

I have spent a total of $ 2,600.in repairs. I have asked Dodge to please help us as we cant afford the repairs. I did not sign an "as is " contract. I cant get any help from them. All I want is a dependable car, or, all my money back plus the cost of repairs that should have been taken care of when dodge did the safty cheeck. OR, you would think they would have told me what was to be expected in a very short time in reguards to repairs. I have all my repair bills and statements from Tracy Dodge. Please Help!!!
