Total Scam Artists in

Discount Engine Exchange is a total scam and rip-off. Like a lot of the other posts my parents took their vehicle to them because they gave them a great quote on having a new engine put in their Chevy Aveo; $1800. Well that $1800 ended up turning into at little over $3600 and a car that doesn't work. They were very willing to come and get the vehicle asap. They had a tow truck here with in an hour to pick the vehicle up to take it to their shop. My father was told that the total cost would be $1800 and the vehicle would be ready in 7-10 days. Great! Well that 7-10 days turned into over a month and ended up costing them over double of what they were quoted. After not hearing from them for 10 days my dad started calling and was told that they're working on it and it should be ready by next wednesday, it was always next wednesday, or the end of the week. Every word out of Ted's mouth to my father was a lie. Finally Ted told my dad that they needed some more money for parts for the car. My parents complied because they were desperate to get their car back. So discount engine sent a guy to their house to pick up a check from my parents to pay for additinal parts that they needed.By this time three weeks had already passed and they just now were starting on the car it seemed. They were told that the car would be ready by the end of that week. Surprise, surprise... It wasn't. They did actually pick-up the phone this time and call my dad and let him know that they took it for a test drive and it started leaking transmissin fluid. Defective part aparently that they would have to re-order (yeah right). Finally after over a month and a half my parents got there car back. They drove the vehicle home, which it did make it home, but when they went to start it the next day the vehicle wouldn't start!!! My dad talked to Ted who said he'd have a mechanic come out to look at it that afternoon or a tow truck come get it. Well neither a mechanic nor tow truck showed up. When my dad called the next day to talk to Ted to find out what was going on Ted said he was thinking about him and that he couldn't have a tow truck come and get the car per Ted's supervisor. My dad asked to talk to teds supervisor and Ted told him to give him five minuets and he'd call my dad back... Well my dad never got a phone call back. As of right now my parents are out about $3,700 and have a vehicle that does not work. I called Ted myself to ask him what he's going to do about my parents vehicle because it appears he's refusing to fix it. He insisted that he's not refusing to fix it that if my parents tow the vehicle to the shop he'll fix what ever is wrong with it. I asked if there was going to be a charge for the repairs and he said that if what is wrong with it is due to work that they did it will be free but if it's something else there will be a charge. Well there's no way we'd know if the problem is because of their neglegence or not!!! My parents will be taking there vehicle to the dealership to get it running again and hopefully the damage this place did isn't going to cost them an arm and a leg to fix! I'm assiting my parents in filing a complaint with the Attorney Generals Office in hopes that others have filed as well and that an investigation into this scam of a place gets investigated and that no one else gets taken for their hard earned money!!!
