I purchased a vehicle for cash from Eric Jones at the Jones auto sales in Mesa in Febuary 09. I paid $5100 cash for my car. I was told at time of purchase that the car had been thru a 132 point inspection! Within one week of owning my car the transmission went out. I was stranded 120 miles from my house and had to pay a tow truck to tow my car home. I called the dealer and spoke to a Nathan Hicks who told me that I should have checked all my fluids before driving anywhere! I told him that I was told the car was in great working order and that the dealer had performed a inspection and that there was nothing wrong with the car. I was directed to call the owner, Eric Jones... He was of no help. I had a service station repair the transmission. 60 days later my plates had still not come in the mail to me and the temporary plate that the dealer had given me had expired. I called Eric Jones and he had me come in and he gave me another 45 day temporary plate. That one expired 45 days later and I had still not received my plates. The dealer gave me a dealer plate to use until they could figure out the problem. It has been 9 months since I purchased the car and I am still driving on a dealer plate. I have been told that this car never passed a emmissions test and that is why I do not have my plates. I have taken the car down twice to the dmv to try to get a positive emmissions test but it failed both times.
Erick Jones stopped returning my calls so I got in contact with the main owner, TOM JONES. He assured me that this is not how they do business and in fact it is illegal for me to be driving on a dealer plate. TO this day this problem has not been resolved. I was told when I purchased the vehicle that it was a great car but it has been a nightmare. I have been out of pocket over $2000 in tow bills and mechanic bills. I have been told to write the better business and the attorney generals office. That is what I am going to do. BUYER BEWARE, I will never buy another used car from Jones and from now on I suggest everyone has the car inspected by mechanic before paying or signing for any used vehicle. Jones autos does not stand by there vehicles or there word.
