This company somehow justified requiring two tow trucks to impound a roughly 350 pound ATV. One of the tow trucks was a 4x4 flatbed model. The tow did require about 6 miles of graded dirt road driving, which I have no problem with. I do have a problem with why the flatbed was needed, especially when the flatbed truck was parked about 100 feet from hwy 14 at the end of this graded dirt road. It is only about another 10-12 miles back to where the tow yard is from that point. My receipt shows the flatbed being used for 1 hour and 50 minutes. I do not know if they just drive those flatbeds extremely slowly or what... I asked the company about these charges for the flatbed and was given no answers, basically they told me to shut-up or they would call the authorities. I was hung up on repeatedly trying to get information about getting my ATV back. It cost me over $1400 to get the ATV back and I was told to "bring cash only" on the day I was to pick it up. I payed in cash, then found out that they had mysteriously lost the ignition key for the ATV I asked if we could get a hold of the driver to ask them if they had the key and was told "NO!" repeatedly. I asked them if there was any other place it could possibly be and was told "NO!". I feel completely cheated and I want my ignition key back!
Beware of Inyo County Towing, they are thieves and rip off artists and could possibly be classified as "inept".
