Estimate said new parts, used parts were used

After getting into an accident and having an estimate done at a "drive thru" place. I was recommended to go to WIllarron COllision Center in Phoenix, even though there were some closer shops that did work for this insurance company. I was told they would come get my vehicle and bring it back to me after the repairs were done.

Shayne, the owner came to pick up the vehicle himself and was friendly and told me he was good friends with the adjuster, now I know why I was referred to him.

According to the estimate, it should take 4 days to repair. They were replacing the front bumper, front fender, light, wheel and repair hood. 3 days later i was called by the shop and told they just took the fender off and there is supplement damage and more parts were going to be ordered. I was prepared for this as the adjuster said there could be a supplement because he couldnt get the hood open.

I was told it was going to take at least 2 more days because of the additional parts. They were going to replace the radiator support and a wire harness for the lights, and a suspension part. I was disappointed it took them 3 days to call me about this in the first place, and now I was going to have to find transportation for the weekend.

It is now the next week and I am expecting a phone call on the 6th day and no one called. Then the 7th, then 8th day and no call. Finally on the 9th day i was told they forgot to order the wheel and it will be here the next day. I thought ok, whats one more day.

Well, that call never came and I had to call them on the friday afternoon to ask where my vehicle was? After being on hold for 10 minutes I was told the vehicle was in the paint shop, it hadn't even been painted yet. I was livid, its been 2 weeks now!!! And now its another weekend of renting a car to go out of town.

The next wednesday, 13th day, they delivered my vehicle and it looked ok. It didn't seem to have that new paint look to it, but it looked better than the damage. Shayne isnt as friendy this time around and appears to be in a hurry to leave.

The next day i get in the car and want to go to the mall and the car shimmys and shakes and is all over the road and pulls. I turn right back around and call the shop up and was told Shayne wasnt going to be in today. I ask if anyone else can help and I was told Shayne handles all customer complaints. I call the next day and apparently Shayne is sick. I'm so upset about my car and don't trust it to go to the store a block away now.

Monday I call back and finally get ahold of Shayne and he tells me to come to the shop and he will look at it. I told him I am afraid to drive it and he says he doesn't live far from me and will stop by that day. He never stopped by. I called the next day and he said he had to stay late at the shop but would come by Tuesday. HE NEVER DID!

I call wednesday and I get put on hold and after 5 minutes I am told that Shayne isn't there today. Thursday i call and Shayne isn't there again. ITS ALMOST 4 WEEKS NOW!!!

I was talking to a neighbor and he recommended I have another shop look at the car since there are a few larger shops within a few miles. I called the first one and he said he could look at it the next week and would charge $50. I called the second one and the manager tells me he will in on saturday till noon and will have a body technician on hand and they would look at the vehicle at no charge. I told him that I was afraid to drive it and he told me no problem, that he would get dropped off and be willing to drive it back the shop for me while I went with him. All he asked was that I have a copy of the final estimate.

He comes bright and early like he said he would and we get in the car and within a block he mentions somethings wrong.

I sat in their waiting area for what seemed to be forever. After about 35 to 40 minutes he comes out and tells me he has some bad news. I had this panic feeling come over me. He then proceeded to take me out the shop, which had been loud with noise and banging even though the place was well insulated, he told the other tech to take a break and they turned down the music so I could hear.

Here are the things they found:

1) instead of replacing the bumper with a reconditioned one, they used an aftermarket one (this explains why the parts didnt line up right)

2) instead of replacing the fender with a Capa Certified part, they used a non certified part, very cheap. I was told they typically are 1/3 the price of Capa which are usually half the price of OEM.

3) instead of replacing the radiator support, they repaired it and it was very visble, like they just kinda banged it with a hammer. There was paint chipping painted over even

4) the wire thing they were going to replace, they repaired the wires instead. The manager of this shop said that can be done if they the wires are soldered and heat wrapped. Apparently they just used wire connectors and wrapped it in black tape

5) they never did replace the wheel, it seems they just cleaned it up very well. After the manager pointed it out, you could still see the gouge in the rim.

6) they never replaced the suspension part like they said, unless they bought a used one and put it in.

7) after the manager drove it, he said with how it drove they could have never did the alignment

The shop I was at wrote an estimate to repair it and told me I should contact the insurance company and the shop again to repair it. I told him they took 3 weeks the first time and did not get it done right, what makes you think they will get it right the second time. The shop manager said its not the first time he's heard of problems like this from that particular shop.

I called the insurance company and the original adjuster answered and I explained the problem to him and he immediately wanted me to take the car back to the shop. I WAS NOT using them again and I told him that. At that point it appeared I was not getting anywhere with him so I said goodbye and called my agent and they put me in touch with some other people from the insurance company.

It took this other shop 3 days to repair the vehicle right and redo all the bad parts. When i picked it up, it drove like it did when i bought it. I was very happy with them.

I would not recommened WIllarron Collision Center to anyone, they lie, cheat, steal and are just immoral.
