I am a renter in a condo complex near Vista, CA. Last night (11/16/09) at around 9:20 PM I got out of bed to get a glass of water and noticed a tow truck outside my window, backing up to hook up my daughter's vehicle, which was legally parked with the required visitor parking pass displayed on the rear view mirror. I yelled for them to "stop, I live here and rent and that is my daughter's car and put it down now" they did not heed my request and kept on hooking it to the tow truck, that would be Truck #P5 with the driver listed only as King (and that is EXACTLY who he thought he was). I ran to talk to man from TRI-CITY SECURITY, who is OBVIOUSLY ON THE TAKE - getting kick backs from RED LINE TOWING - it was so extremely blatant I am shocked that the two POLICE OFFICERS I SUMMONED did not put 2 & 2 together. Oh this is the best part... There was a warning notice on my wind shield time and date written: NOVEMBER 16TH AT 21:10 HRS. (That is 9:10 PM regular time) What time was the tow truck there??? 9:20 PM or 21:20 pm!!! I was suppose to have found the notice (in a dream perhaps since I was in bed) and moved the car, all in 20 mins. And... When I questioned why I had not recieved any (not one) previous notices, the man from TRI-CITY SECURITY told me he had written one on Sunday 11/15 which I NEVER RECEIVED, AND he flashed a copy of the carbon warning in the book in the black of night which of course I am 100% CERTAIN he wrote previously before the one he gave me last night and simply tore it up. Now I asked - what idiot gets a warning that their vehicle is going to be towed, and ignores it and leaves the car there to towed? I drove the car on Sunday, there was NOT A WARNING ON THE VEHICLE. I am postively certain, that red line towing and tri-city security are in kahoots and are probably bilking residents of apt. COMPLEXES AND SECURITY GUARDED HOUSING TRACTS OUT OF HUNDREDS OF DOLLARS PER DAY! I will be searching for any complaints on Tri-City as well, if you can post them here I would love to see them. Long story short, I called the cops, the driver of the truck pulled out from the parking space with my daughter's car in tow, and I stood in front of the truck until police arrived.in a nutshell, one of the officers talked KING into dropping the car for - hmmm what a coincidence - take a guess, $100.00 CASH!!! I had to have my kids break open their piggy banks and we managed to scrap the RANSOM together to pay the fat, rude tow driver and keep the car on the property of the condo complex. This is FLAT OUT EXTORTION & something must be done to stop this now!
