Don Diamond - Texas Cash for Cars.com Sold me a rip off car that he guaranteed he would stand behind and repair if anything was found to be wrong within 30 days

On September 7, I purchased a 2002 Saturn L300 from Don Diamond 832-640-6722, at Nu 2 U Auto on Hwy 249 in Houston. My first question to him was if he stood behind his cars and I clarified that I meant if anything goes wrong with the car within 30 days, would he fix the problem. He stressed the fact that he definitely guaranteed his product and would have no problem fixing any possible problems. When I mentioned that I would need it in writing, he said that there was no reason for that since he valued his reputation and it was just second nature for him to fix the problems. Like an idiot I believed him. After test driving and visually looking everything over, I purchased the car in cash. I drove the car home that afternoon then to the Park N Ride (less than five miles away) where I meet my work car pool that next morning. On the way home that evening the change oil soon light came on. I thought that would be a great idea because I am a fanatic about doing oil changes on time and this way I knew for sure when the last oil change was done. Within 5 minutes of having my car in the garage, the mechanic came right out and said he needed to show me something. The engine and everything else under the car was covered in oil, he made me out a service ticket showing there was a huge leak in the oil housing and that the oil plug was also leaking. He told me that he would fix it but there was no reason that the place I bought it from wouldnt fix it without any problems especially since I hadnt even driven 25 miles on the car. Don Diamond said he would look at it but couldnt get it in until the following Tuesday so I parked the car for a week and took it in the next Tuesday. When I picked the car up Don lectured me that the problem was an o ring and not the housing in fact it was impossible for it to be the housing on that type of car since its welded to the engine. Since it appeared to be fixed I left. I had a few errands to run that night; home, my sons open house at the school, and a department store. After coming out of the department store the car would NOT start. I spent a few hours trying to figure out the problem but ended up having to leave it there. I tried again the next morning and it started fine. I drove immediately to a different mechanic. His diagnosis the same as the first mechanic except now the oil leak had drenched and burned out the crank sensor which is why the car wouldnt start. Of course I called Don who said that was impossible, again. However, I find it hard to believe that two different mechanics would find the same problem but still be wrong. Anyway, after it was all said and done the total to fix the car - $522.00 which Don would not cover. I wish I would have read on line before buying anything from Don Diamond at Nu 2 U Car Sales. I know that I got off cheap at $522.00 (hopefully there wont be anymore problems) but it is more the point that a man gave his word and was actually a liar.
