My Husband had called on prices for a rebuild 305 motor for our family car, Engine Parts and Accessories had quoted him $739.00 with the return of $150.00 core charge. We got screwed on the deal, we were shipped the wrong motor and had to drive the wrong motor and the motor that we took out of the car down to Las Vegas, we live 4 1/2 hours away. When I got down to drop the motors off they gave me the run a round said the we would'nt get our $150.00 core charge because we were using the original motor and the didn'nt have one to rebuild. I told them they told us they didn'nt have another motor to rebuild because they messed up, but that didn'nt matter. So we payed $739.00 for the motor that was only to cost us $589.00, plus we had the cost of the extra gas to take the motors back to Las Vegas which was $120.00 each way. Still to this day we have not gotten any monies back from this shop and it gets worse.
We got the motor put in the car and i made a few short trips around town. Then we took the car to Las Vegas and on the way back i broke down with 5 kids on the side of the road at 1230 am i had to call the Highway Patrol to take us all to Ash Springs and wait for my husband to come from Ely to get us.
My husband and i had to go back to Ash springs to get our car with a car dolly, when we got it home he put it up on jacks and found out that the rod had gone thru the block. So the repair shop did'nt rebuild the motor correctly like we paid them to do. The motor did'nt even have 500 miles on it.
We have had our family car 13 years and we are very attached to it, it took us 2 years to save the money to have some one rebuild the motor because we have been restoring it slowing. And then to have some one rip us off was just the last straw.
I hope this will let people know not to use this shop for any repairs they will do to you what they did to us, and i'm sure have done to many people before us
So comsumer be ware check all shops before you pay for your repairs.
