The car industry is obviously suffering. It is the old saying "what goes around comes aroung" in my opinion. Just shy of 2 years ago I drove from South Charlotte to Mooresville Ford to buy a new car. The only reason we drove that far was because I am a total skeptic when it comes to car buying and I had a friend who worked at the Mooresville Ford Store. (Note: He no longer works there because of their shady operations.)

My boyfriend and I felt so comfortable to be dealing with an old friend that we chose our new car and drove it off the lot that same day. Not only did we buy the car... We were lay downs on the Extra Care Warranty and the Maintenance Warranty. Our friend said that it was a great idea for a used car.

Here is where they got us. What extended warranty suckers we are. It sounded good on paper. The paper was so confusing that even when our attorney looked it over... He could not even figure out why our warranty is now not being honored.

Ah... Ha... Behind the lines. This is how the paper reads.

Extra Care 60 months or 100,000 miles Cost to Consumer $1835
Maintainence 24 months or 25,000 miles Cost to Consumer $1

The trick is that the Maintainence warrenty is from the starting milage of a used car. The extra care warranty backdates to when the car was new. So we paid for a warranty that essentially we could not even use. The car was purchased 4 years or 48 months old with almost 40,000 miles on it.

Not only did they trick us... They tricked our friend who worked there too. He was fairly new to the game and they knew we trusted him and so they made it sound so great so that they could use him to sell us a car and and a bum deal.

Here we are less than 2 year and 40,000 miles into our new car... There goes the transmission. The attorney sent us a rebuttle letter from the dealers president... Smug and routine. I wish you well Mr. Jeff Shoe. I imagine that you have been screwed before and know how bad if feels. I hope you sleep well at night and no shady company ever takes advantage of your family the way you have mine.

Now, how much it may cost us to have the transmission fixed... Not too sure but the $2 grand that we gave Mr. Jeff Shoe and company would probably help at this point.
