On 01/30/09 I purchased a 1997 Ford Taurus from this company. The purchase price was $2500 and I paid in full. It came with no warranty. The paperwork they gave me shows I only gave him $500 in cash and my 2000 Chevy Cavalier for a trade in. The first day i had the vehicle the brakes failed. A few weeks later the ignition failed and the steering column was replaced. I have replaced the thermostat, water pump, and overflow cap. On 05/29/09 the car would not start. I have called them many times to trade in the car, but they only give me a price of $1000 for the vehicle.
Have contacted the business owner on many occasions from the evening that I bought the car up until now requesting a refund or a different car or this car fixed. If and when the car starts I can now only drive it 1 mile before it starts to get hot. When you step on the gas it does not want to go then suddenly takes off and it jumps like the engine is misfiring. I can no longer feel safe with my 9 month old daughter in this car. I don't know if the car is going to move or stop running if I pull out into traffic. The dates I have called him are 1/30/09 at 222pm and 629pm, 1/31/09 at 1117 am and 1120 am, 2/1/09 at 123 pm and 357pm, 2/2/09 at 227 pm, 2/14/09 at 1012 am, 2/16/09 at 1145am and 1149 am and 622pm, 2/17/09 at 207pm, 2/18/09 at 128 pm, 3/16/09 at 505pm, 5/14/09 at 730pm, 6/23/09 at 506pm, 6/28/09 at 1133am, 7/8/09 at 408pm, 7/11/09 at 1041am and 1038 am. We have gone to his establishment numerous times.
On 7/14 I took my car to Maybrads auto service and was told that it is going to cost me about 1200.00 to fix the engine. When we called Audrain auto to see if he would do anything about this car and after speaking to him about the problems with the car he has asked me and anyone who lives in this home not to step on his property or we will be arrested. We then told him we were getting a lawyer and hung up. He called us back 5 or 6 times after that conversation trying to get us to work with him now. He would still only give us a 1000.00 trade in for the car and would try and find us a vehicle. That was only after he found out it was in the shop getting a new motor put in it. If we agree to this we would have to pay for the repairs on the vehicle and then also pay car payments for the vehicle we get in the trade. This has been a nightmare. First he falsified my title, then the brakes go out while driving the vehicle the first week, then the overheating, and replacing/repairing the motor and now we have been told the front tie rods and universal joints need replaced, that they are really bad.
