The Grease spot of Galesburg Illinois is illegally ripping off their customers

The Galesburg Illinois bussines, The Grease Spot Inc. Is damaging cars and and decieving it customers. I know, becasue i was fired for standing up to the Manager and the district manager.

They are using a big "animal / farm water tank in the basement will with water and TY-D-BOL tablets and pumping it into the cars and calling it winshiel fluid.

They dont not have 5W-30, in the above hose to fill you car. They have one labeled 10w-30. You are instructed that if the customer notices, you telling that it has what ever the car needs. Other wise if your car needs 10w-30 it really gets 10w-30 but if it needs 5w-30, you put in 10w-30 and tell them it 5w-30 the real 5w-30 tank in the basement is empty and has not worked in years.

They also told me not to say a word when a New model Ford car, about 35,000 dollars came in to the shop with an internal filter, which we did not have. Andy pulled it out of the car, then put the old one back in and told me not to say a word. He had forgoten to order parts. They charged the customer for full service, an oil change and filter, and sent their car back out with the old filter.

I was instructed also never to mention if I damage a person car, by stripping a thread, but to yell "sidebar" at which time the manager would run down and change the plug out, with new one, which he is not trianed to do.

Many times he would run, back to the customers and tell them that another shop must have stripped the customers oil pan or drain pain, and refuse to fix the car, or to do the oil change, or ask them if they would like us to repair the damage for a 5.00 charge.

When a customer comes with dark oil, or overmilage, the would sell the customer a engine cleaner package, which would included draining the oil out of the car, and filling back with only 4 quarts of cleaner and running the car for 5 minutes. Point is if you car requires 6 quarts of fluid to run, the car was ran for five minutes missifn two quarts, possibly and most likely damaging the motor.

The manager and store offers and transmission flush, which they hook up the machine to your transmission and suck out the old fluid and install new. The deception is that when customers, who have some automotive knowledge ask? Does that clean out the transmission filter, They tell them it does. They sell this service saying your automanufactors warranty states you must hae your transmission serviced at "x" amount of miles or you will void you warranty.

They have no clue, but the transmission filter is not being replaced and there for is still dirty or clogged, but you think you have left with a "serviced transmission" per the factory warranty requirements.

I aslo watched the manager inproperlly attempt to change the transmission fluid in a new car, running the car with the car missing 6 quarts of fluid, cause the transmission to smoke, then refilling the fluid and telling the customer that the pump went out ont he machine, and their car was fine, but in reality he damaged the car, and got it out of the shop quick. Stating he was worried, the district manager told him that any claims against the store would cause in all employee to be fired.

They also do minor car repair work, including brakes, engine tune up, and belts, alternators and battery. The parts come from the local parts store at a "discounted price to us", they then charge Double the "list price", and the customer is not allowed to see the reciepts, and are told it would cost them twice the amount of the price we charge for the item. The truth is the customer would get the item for half or less what we charge for the part, and then we also charge them labor, no matter how short of time it takes, the still get charges the 65.00 hourly rate.

When filling up the tires on vehicles, all vehicles tired are inflated to 40 lbs. But the customer is told we filled your tires tot he proper amount and your ready to go. The truth is the tired are filled to 40lbs, not the approved amount listed on you tires, which can lead to damaging your tires or causing your car to wreck, if the tire ruptures.

The cars are routinly a quart low on motor oil when they leave the shop. I hae been told to check the vehicle's oil level when it comes in, but not to tell the customer, because "creightons own words"; I, (Creighton) probally did not fill completely the last time it was in here.

The manager is supposed to look up the amount required by your vehicle, which he does not. Creighton and Andy are not trained mechanics and guess most of the time on which filter your vehicle needs. Leading to many vehicles with the wrong filters placed on the vehicle nad the wrong amount of oil, both whcih can lead to engine failure, or a potential wreck from oil leakage from a burst filter.

We offer complete inspection service, including checking the fuid quality and levels in the vehicle differentials, (axles) and tranmisions and transfer case.
Most time this is not done, many time while attepting to remove the inspection plugs, theplug is damaged or stripped, I was told not say a word, and say differential was Good and to send the vehicle out damaged.

The grease fitting on most vehicles are not serviced and you are paying for it, they grease only the ones they see when they want to, if they do it at all.

Many times the customer is offered a cash transaction on you vehicle. Meaning Creighton and Andy will do the work for cash to them, which is stealling from the company and aslo does not give the customer any protection if the job is done improperly and your vehicle is damaged.

Anytime I spoke up I was threatened to be fired, I was told not to tell the district manager. But the District manager is fully aware of the wrong oil being installed in your vehicle and the fake washer fluid (toilet water) being put in your vehicle.

So in short, im a former employee fired today for attempting to whisleblow on these practices and to protect the consumer. I will fully testify in court about all these practices.
