Went to SpeeDee for a simple transmission service which included cleaning the filter and replacing the fluid in the pan.
What should have been a simple procedure ended up in a 2 hour stay. Upon departing home later in the evening I discovered a very large puddle of transmission fluid on my driveway. The next morning I called them and returned my car to their shop.
I was told that it was leaking because I had bent the pan and when they took it off it wouldn't go back on. I asked them to please fix it for me and I spent another hour of time there.
I mentioned to one of the mechanics that I wanted to know if there was any way to get the fluid off of my driveway. A manager chimed in and told me to get a scrub brush and some Tide. He was very sarcastic about it and acted as if I was stupid for asking.
Took the car home and it was still leaking fluid everywhere. When I called to talk to them about it they told me that I had bent the pan before they worked on it and it was sprung and all I could do was buy I new pan. I explained that the pan didn't leak when I brought it there and now it won't stop leaking.
The manager insisted that it was my fault that it was leaking and it was "sprung" and I needed to buy a new pan. He said bringing it back there wouldn't do any good. I told him that if he didn't think that they were going to be able to do the job that they should have told me when I brought the vehicle in and not done damage that they could not fix.
I never had a problem with my transmission before I took it there and now I go through a quart of fluid every two days. I wondered why the initial visit took so long and I think that they knew they had made a mistake and where trying to figure out how to either fix it or cover it up.
I would not take my child's tricycle to Spee Dee. The work that I had done had a warranty on parts and labor and now they will not honor that warranty.
