Problem:
I blew the head gaskets in my van. I was reconmended to go to Marshall Muffler & Brake by a friendof mine seeing that I was new to the area and she trusted this shop cause they had repaired her vehicle. I went in and met the owner, talk to him about my situation and he said get my van towed and he would fix it. So I got my van towed there 2 1/2 months ago. Today is May 14. He gave me a set price on what it was going to cost 750 -800 no more and no less is what he said to replace the gaskets, without even looking at the van. I agreed to 750-800 dollars and thought that I was getting a good deal. A month went by and I didnt receive a call so I call him and he said that he will get around to it, and I wasnt aware that he had never look at my van to see what the problems was, so I went up to the shop and explained to him that I needed my van fixed cause at the time it was my only means of transportation. He said he will start on it the very next day, so before I left I then gave him 500 dollars, so after 2 more weeks pass and after numerous phone calls to the shop with no answer sometimes and other times the owner telling me that they were working on it, I started passing by every night and notice that the van had never been moved from where the tow truck towed, I went up to see the progess and he had never touched it, and we talk about it and he keep saying that he will get to it, so more weeks pass and I went back everyday and stiil nothing, I stop by a couple of days later and he raised the price up to 1100-1200 dollars. I was outraged but I agreed to it, with the arrangements that he would go ahead and fix my van. I took him another 700 in change and cash and got a receipt paid. Another month past and still not fixed, well to fast forward to today I got the call to come pick my van up, with the impression that it was fixed and paid for, he left before I got there and had another bill for 375 for me, so I ask the mechanic who was what this bill is for I paid already he said deal with the owner, then I asked could I test drive the van to make sure it was alright, he said no cause the owner had drove it hisself and he said that it ran perfect and that he was the one who put it back together and he knows that it was right, so they had screwed me over 1 to many times, so I crank it and ask the mechanic who put it together why wasnt my air blowing in the front, and a few other things I noticed, he said he is about to go and he doesnt have time for this and he is not dealing with this, he always have to deal with the owners mess and for me to bring it back tomorrow. I drove it to the light to test drive it and it cut off, I got out and poped the hood to checked the fluids, and the pices of my van wasnt put back together. The van didnt want to take off, once I opened the hood I checked the oil and the entire pipe came off in my hand, there was no oil in the van because it wasnt put back together, there were so many pieces falling out, I called back down there and got no answer cause theyhad left, so I had to get it towed to my house and I wont dare take it back to Marshall Muffler & Brakes me and my family could have been seriously injured.
They called me and said that my van was fixed and this is the second times this has happen. He call me a month earlier and told me that my van would be ready in 30 minutes and when I got there, it wasnt even put back together.
