JMW Auto Sales #2
Fraud, ripoff, dishonest, hazardous, dirty SOB's, rip off scam con artists

I'm a former US MARINE, and I was living in TX just recently, and needed a new vehicle. I went to JMW Auto Sales #2, because of all the American Flags they had displayed. Hey, it was motivating.

I met with the Manager Luis Rios and worked out a deal on a 2001 Dodge Neon SE. He was super cool, and I signed all the paperwork.

After I signed the paperwork, I was informed the vehicle title was a "SALVAGE VEHICLE TITLE" because this car was buried in the Houston flood 2 years ago. No big deal... Other than the car smelling somewhat like a swamp, the car was smooth, clean, and ran great.

I was issued the standard Temporary Plates, and sent on my way. It's TX law that dealers have 20 days to get the customer the registration tags, and title. This was not a LEASE, this was a FINANCED vehicle, but this is also where the fun starts.

I only had the Temp plate. Now it was expired 1 month after vehicle purchase. When I asked JMW Auto Sales #2 where my LEGAL PAPERWORK was, they simply gave me a new Temp plate and blamed TX Department of Public Safety (their DMV) for being slow with the paperwork. Fair Enough. The following month, I was issued a 3rd Temp plate, and then a 4th Temp plate... Each time, the sales manager Luis Rios was changing the "DATE OF PURCHASE" on the tag... Thus fraudulently altering DMV data. Then things went from bad to worse...

Now I'm driving a vehicle that's not legally registered, and after a month of investigations... Here's the synopsis:

Woodland Financial Group of Pearland, TX refused to approve the salvage title loan for the dealership, because it wasn't SAFETY INSPECTED by some proprietary safety inspection for salvaged titles. I learned the car had been listed as TOTALLED 75%-94%. The reason I wasn't getting my legal documentation and tags for the vehicle is because the state deemed the car UNSAFE FOR SALE, pending this proprietary inspection (not emissions, a title inspection... Something major).

I landed a consulant position in Connecticut, and took the position, maintaining myself as a TX Resident. Upon talking with JMW AUTO SALES #2 co-owner REX, he 'ordered' me to RETURN to Texas so he could inspect the vehicle, because TX DPS was fining him over 200 dollars a day (unverified). I told him he was nuts, and that he shouldn't of sold me a vehicle that wasn't safe for sale! He then threatened to repo the vehicle. At this point I contacted TX Office of Credit Commissions, and learned that JMW isn't even allowed to finance vehicles in-house, and with Woodland Financial not approving the loan, I don't know who to pay. Rex (the co-owner) of JMW Auto Sales #2 became irate, and subsequently told me to return the vehicle, and he'd refund the total amount I've put into the car.

I'm working with this Credit Commissioners office and they disclose all rebuttals, and emails between myself and JMW Auto Sales #2. Rex stated that I promised to have the vehicle safety-inspected myself, but "fled" to Connecticut to avoid paying for the vehicle, and that I was in default of the loan (what loan?! It was denied!?) because I signed an affidavit stating I would notify the dealership if I left the state? If there's a document like that with my signature, it's because they forged it.

I don't have a clue what to do, after I faxed this Rex wackjob with the bad temper with my terms for returning the vehicle to TX. It wouldn't be wise to drive it back to TX, onto HIS lot, and go by his WORD that he'll hand me over 3,000.00 dollars so I could get back to Connecticut. This guy is shady, and I have photocopies of all the temp plates he altered, receipts, and still do not have my fricken vehicle title.

I served my country, I payed my payments on time, and all I wanted was LEGAL PLATES AND LEGAL REGISTRATION, and LEGAL TITLE so the Houston police would stop pulling me over because the inspection stickers were outdated by 2yrs. I wish I could submit what Rex said to the Credit Commissioners office. He made it sound like I walked into the dealership, and started making promises to safety-inspect the salvaged title vehicle, and comes off like I was well advised. They're bean-counter sales wussies, and this guy would sell out his own mother for a cheeseburger. I want to just get my money back, since I was sold a vehicle that was UNSAFE #1, UNFINANCED #2, and I want some guarantee this won't be a "REPO" on my credit. I don't trust this guy, or his staff. When he started YELLING into the phone, angry and irritated when I was clearly trying to get what was due (legal paperwork) I knew then he screwed up bad by selling me this vehicle without this manditory inspection. I'm not vehicle purchase savvy, and never had a problem with a purchase before, so my wrongdoing was putting my trust that the dealer would take care of all details. I can't afford a lawyer to tackle this bonehead, but I definitely feel this was an oversight on their part, that turned sour, and they're attempting to turn the tables on me, to make me out to be some scumbag consumer. I'm so lost in this whole thing, and that guy Rex won't even take my calls. I'm tempted to send him the car in tiny pieces, one at a time, for the next 30 yrs.

What the heck do I do Now?!
