I started my auto insurance with Sagamore insurance on Feb 5 at a rate of about 3100 dollars for one year.inever had insurance in my name, and they were the cheapest. After 2 months (paid on time $286 per month) I cancelled the insurance on April 1,4 days before my due date because I got insurance with another company for a lot less a month. At this time I had paid a total of $673.20. I cancelled the policy figuring that I was doing the right thing rather than just letting the policy lapse.
After I cancelled the policy with Sagamore I received a bill for 823 plus a 9 dollar late fee. I have not even had the policy for 2 months and they say that it cost me 823. I called the company to discuss this matter and both people I talked to were very rude to me. The first operator stated that if I had just let the policy lapse I would not owe money and probably get money back. I then asked to speak to her supervisor and was told that she had left for the day and I had to call back tomorrow. I called the next day and was told she was out sick. I then waited a few days and called her. Ms Hill then went on to state that they charged me the short rate and that she would not come to any compromise on this bill nor would they drop the late charge even though I cancelled before the due date on my policy. She was extremely rude to me to the point I hung up on her for calling me names such as (immature whiner, Cheapskate, and was told that if I could not afford insurance I should get a job). I have not contacted that company since.
