In October my sons 2002 Dodge 1500 developed squeeky brakes so he took it to Brake Check for repairs. Brake Check gave him a whole long list of things that they "recommended" to be done. This would have cost over $800.00 which we didn't have at the time. He is in college and we had just paid tuition, housing etc. And were trying to save up for the Spring semester.
I had him get what was absolutely needed done and told him we would do the rest in stages as we could afford it.
In late February the brakes started squeeking again so my son was driving from Sam Houston State Univ. Where he is in school to the Brake Check on I-45. This drive is about 45 minutes - total. Not far out of Huntsville the brake locked up on the passenger side front tire and the tire twisted off.
After the truck was loaded on the wrecker my husband had the wrecker driver stop by the Brake Check for the manager to see and inspect the brake and damage.
Mike - the manager admitted that the damage was Brake Checks fault, took pictures, made a file, and told us his manager was in the area and would be by the body shop that day to take a look at the truck. He gave my husband and son the District Sales Managers card and told them that they should have the truck fixed in "no time".
Well let me tell you what their definition of "no time" is. My son took my car back to school and left me without one. I work - what an inconvenience.
March 20th - I called the body shop and they said no one had been out to look at the truck. I called Brake Check to see what was going on with Jeffs truck. I found out that the manager who took the photos and notes at Brake Check "had moved on to another store". The new manager knew nothing about it. How convenient.
I then called the District Sales Manager Anthony Berten and left a message on his cell phone. I then called the store back and he said Anthony Berter was in training but would go by the body shop and look at the truck on Saturday, March 21, and would get back to me.
I never heard from him.
April 7 - My husband and I stopped by the body shop and found no one had ever been out to see the truck.
I called Anthony Bertens Mobile number and left a message. I called the Brake Check District Office and left a message. I never got a call back.
April 15 I called Anthony Bertons cell phone at 8:11am. He answered the phone, said he had been in San Antonio and would go by the body shop on Saturday. I gave him the owner of the body shops name, phone and cell phone number for him to contact him and set up a time to go inspect the truck on Saturday. I never heard from him and the owner never heard from him. I'm tired of this shit.
April 20 - I contact my attorney.
