My wife and I wanted a mini-van to accommodate our upcoming family. We went to J D Byrider in Columbus, Ohio on Hamilton road. I forget the name of the salesman.
Anyway, we took in all the necessary paperwork and money that we wanted to put down and also our trade in a 1990 Plymouth Voyager which was about to die on us. Anyway we sat down, they pulled our credit and showed us only one car that we could get. Can you believe a car lot that had over 50 cars on it that we could only get one of them?
The name of the nightmare they stuck us with was a 91 Dodge Caravan. It was a good looking car. Well, we drove it, kicked the tires, thought and thought about it. Then like an idiot we went back in and talked to MR. Ripoff (aka Johnny from cnac) and he showed us the price which was 6,500.00. That was before I knew about Kelley blue book. Well they then had the nerve to tell me the 500.00 and our trade was not enough. (This ain't what he said on the phone by the way) Well, it turned out they wanted 600.00 MORE!
Well, that upset me, but my wife liked it so like any husband I said okay, they allowed me four weeks to pay that. Well, we had it a week and the brakes went bye bye. They didn't want to pay that, but I made them. Then the transmission started to slip, the power windows went and the rear seal started leaking. Well, that is what put me over the edge. The warranty did not include the power accessories or the rear seal. I took it back and almost threw the guy through the windows of the place. They said, fine we release you from the deal. (after 2 weeks of ownership) They had no other car for us. That was odd to me.
Well, here it is 3 years later and the bastards still have on my credit file that I owe 8000.00 for that piece of you know what. Well, they said I have to call the credit bureau about that myself, kind of weird since they put it on my credit bureau to begin with and I have a release statement from them saying I owe nothing at all!
And oh yeah, they kept my trade and initial down payment. The day will come when the bastards will go under. I hope it comes through.
