On 3/21, I took my Hyundai Elantra into Driver's Edge AKA Lorentz Automotive to get a quote on new brake pads. I was given a quote of $1013.68. They told me that 1 rotor was leaking. Yet the quote was to replace both rotors. I was shocked. When I told them that there was no way I would pay that type of money for a brake job, I was told that they could take off half the price of one of the rotors. I told them that I had an extended warranty and they would cover the cost of the rotors. I was told by the representative that my warranty would not cover any of these services.
I drove my car 4 miles down the road to Hunter Automotive. I was told that I did not need new back brakes at all. I was also told that only 1 rotor needed replaced, and that my struts where stuck probally from being put up on the rack, by Lorentz. They also welcomed the opportunity to work with my warranty. I ended up paying $256.00 for the brake pads, rotor, drums, shoes, struts, labor and all. Lorentz would have gladly overcharged me to the sum of $879.00. I hope that this write up will help keep someone else from being ripped off by this horrible company.
