$489.47 my total bill after fixing a punctured tire, front & rear brake pads
$308 labor alone to replace front/rear brake pads. No rotor work, nothing else other than brake pads.
They charged me 1.3 hrs to replace the front brake pads only. Again, no rotor work, only pads.
1.3 hrs to replace the rear brake pads, only. No rotor work, just the pads.
2.6 hrs to change brake pads on a car??? @ $100 / hr???
This is a 1999 Volvo S80. One of the easiest things to do in a car, besides changing oil, is changing brake pads. It should not take a "certified" mechanic/shop 80 minutes to change a set of brake pads.
This is unconscionable! Society could/would/should not function if everyone operated in this manner.
P. S Normally I change my own brake pads (for under $100), and it does NOT take me anymore than 30 minutes to change both front & rear. But I am out of state, away from home, so I had no choice.
They also, quoted me $1,400.00 to replace the front struts!!!
