Gold Coast Transmission
Paid 450 for visual inspection of my transmission, they don't tell you they don't put it back in

Went to Gold Coast for transmission fluid check. This is a car I have 10 months to get running for my daughter, I made it clear I had already spent several hundred dollars and did not want to spend a lot more RIGHT NOW. They took in back and said scanner did not work because of aftermarket radio, that they had to look. I asked about gasket on pan and they said it was resealable and it would not cost me a thing, I said ok. They called me back in office again and said that fluid was burned and they had to take transmission down to get an idea of what was needed. Cost was $450. I was very undecided but Wayne pointed out that if I had work done there the 450 would come off bill, and that it was better to know. I told hm more than once that I could not afford a transmission right now. He is slick. I said ok, he had me initial on the corner of work order that this was 450 for 'IVR'. (I never got that copy, stupid me) I had school right after that and it dawned on me that he said nothing about putting transmission back in. So I called the number, and got the emergency guy and was told no! That transmission will be in box. I called Wayne the next morning and he said I should have known they were not putting it back in. He offered to box it up now. I called several other shops and was told by several to junk car or get work done at gold coast because this is not the first time they have heard this story and that Gold Coast has a reputation of doing damage to cars that are taken out away to be fixed and that my car will never run right again. (how true that turned out to be) Gold Coast said a coolant hose had to be replaced and that they would do it, they later took off labor for that one piece. I was also to get car by thursday or Friday and did not get a call until 5:05pm Monday and they were closing. So did not get until Tuesday. I did pass shop on Monday and saw my car leaving, I u-turned and followed driver. This was at 12:45pm, driver went flying off and went to a residential neighborhood, had his turn signal on for left to go in driveway, and then never turned in and went right back to shop. This was a 3 mile round trip ride. When I picked up car I asked Wayne and he said car had been on I-95 3 times, I told him I had seen a mechanic driving it right in back of shop, he says oh they were testing it. My car has overheated every time I have driven it since I got it back, guess they got me. I did not go back to them as I do not trust them at all. My car had an overheating problem taken care of on Feb 10, milage was noted at 131,894 at Gold Coast the milage in and out was 131,918. It is 7 miles to my home from my first mechanic and 6.5 miles to Gold Coast - so my car went a total of 10 miles (taking off the miles back from mechanic and ride back to Gold Coast,) so it was on 95 3 times and one ride by their mechanic for 10 miles total?) This is a car that has been passed around our family, it has been well taken care of. It only had a minor slippage in transmission, car is now at Gunther Volkswagon. And even they were surpised at the transmission in a box story. At this point I am not even sure the car needed a transmission. I believe they could show me any parts as broken and what would I know? Even if it came from another beetle, who says it is mine? They lied by omission, to my face and in action by letting that mechanic go home for lunch. Heck they said the car would be washed and the drivers side was, but the passenger inside door was covered in grease. I want my money back, this is dishonest and unethical.
