I had a very bad experience from an internet automobile purchase. After finding my dream car (the exact model, color, options, etc.) on the net. I contacted the dealership, Ray Brandt Nissan, Inc. - Harvey, La. And spoke with a salesman. I had a detailed list of things that I discussed with him. I had him go outside and walk around the car describing the condition each panel, convertible top, glass, tires, fluid leaks, etc.
After being satisfied that the man was a "straight shooter", I made an offer and they countered and we finally agreed on a price.in the photos they posted the car had these huge plastic price stickers along drivers side of the car. The salesman assured me the car would be cleaned, detailed and my one owner, low mileage car (I did a carfax) would be ready for my shipper to pick up. He seemed very sincere and legit.
When the car arrived, the plastic stickers were half peeled off, along with some of the clear coat (paint), there were three bad places and one rip in the convertible top and damage to the rear bumper and right rear fender. The car was dirty and was never detailed. I called the salesman immediately and he told me to get an estimate. ($1500.) After faxing the estimate, I waited but no one called. I finally called and got the basic side step.
Finally I spoke with the used car sales manager (Troy) who "laughed at me one the phone" and told I got a good deal and they were not going to do anything to repair the damages they did after my purchase. I cannot understand why anyone would treat a customer this way other than just sheer greed. I am trying to decide wether to get an attorney and sue. However, I can warn people, do not under any circumstances believe anything the used car department tells you at Ray Brandt Nissan!!!
