Shipped wrong part and refused to credit my account after item was returned

In August '08 I was looking for a repair part for my vehicle. I entered my vehicle info at autopartsgiant.com and an illustration appeared with a part that did not look like what I wanted. I called the company and told them I was on their web site and found a part I needed but the picture looked different from what mine looked like.

The agent asked me to give him the VIN # from my registration and he could crosscheck to make sure that the proper part was shipped. I did that and ordered the part, with his assurance that it would be the right part. It wasn't.

I went to their web site and filed a request for return via email to them. After a few days and no response I called and was told I had to go back to the web site and send another email. I did that and received a return goods # that I needed to ship the part back. I sent it back via UPS and never heard back from them until my wife spent an hour on the phone in January '09 trying to find out why there was no acknowledgement or credit for the returned item. Someone she finally spoke with said they "saw it on the system but could not understand why no credit had been issued".

I read and followed the instructions on my credit card statements and sent all the pertinent information and requested they charge back autopartsgiant.com and credit my account for the full amount including shipping.

Today I received notice from my credit card company that they were crediting my account.

I have still heard nothing from autopartsgiant.com. I no longer care to. If you are in the market for an item from their web site I encourage you to factor in the possibility of nearly five months of frustration with either an inept or a corrupt organization. They most certainly do not DESERVE your business.

I hope someone sees this and takes action either through their credit card company or consumer complaints.
