Three days ago, after exiting a Circuit City store on Maryland Pkwy (computer problems), I discovered my car battery was dead. As I was next to a Firestone repair shop I turned to them for a jump. Before long, the service attendant convinced that my battery tested badly and would have to be replaced, managing to run up a $138 bill. Then the attendant worked mightily to convince me my alternator was also defective, showing me an instrument reading that said low amperage. For a mere $350, they replace the alternator on my old Buick Regal. I didn't buy it! The next morning I took my car to a long-established, reputable shop that ran free diagnostics. They showed me where there wasn't a damn thing wrong with my alternator.in talking to several local business persons, I found that others have had similar experiences. This is out-and-out fraud.
