Meyer Chevrolet - BEWARE OF THIS DEALERSHIP!!! I went on GM's website to look for a new Silverado 2500HD and somehow this dealership came up among many others. I went online to each of the dealership websites to look at their inventory. Meyer had almost what I was looking for and I would have been able to live with the truck given the huge discount - $39,700 Retail discounted to $29,385. I e-mail the dealership via their websites "contact us" to which a salesman by the name of Joe Fusco returned my inquiry. I was told the truck was still available, the price was $29,385 plus sales tax and registration fees. I ask JOE about financing to which he FAXED me an application - I filled it out - FAXED it back to Meyer Chevrolet and low and behold, JOE FUSCO called me the following day informing me I was approved - come and pick up the truck! I have the e-mail to support my allegations!
Keep in mind I live four hours from the dealership EACH WAY!
My wife and I make the trip with our present gasoline crisis and arrive at the dealership as agreed at 10:00AM with all our paperwork from the faxes, e-mail correspondence etc in hand. We sit down with JOE and begin the ruthless task of paperwork. Upon completion of the paperwork, Joe tells us he has to go into the finance managers office for completion of the sale and to get the registration and plates. KEEP IN MIND WE HAVE BEEN TOLD BOTH VIA E-MAIL AND TELEPHONE CALLS WE ARE APPROVED BY CAPITAL ONE BANK!
5 minutes after JOE dissappears with all the paperwork the other sleeze ball in the finance managers office comes out and ask us all kinds of questions regarding the loan. At this time we become very suspicious as we had been told several times that was a done deal. Then the dirtbag comes back out and tells us the bank won't approve us??? UH - what happened to "your all approved-come get your truck??? My credit is not 100% but I generally never have a problem with getting loans! Then he starts with, I can't run your credit without personally having you in front of me??? UH< how many online loan applications have you ever filled out and received your answer??? I know I have done many without a glitch! This guy is a bag of "BS" to say the least! His next approach is "How much cash could you put down??? Uh JOE, didn't we make a deal that the truck was $39, 700 and the sale price was $29, 385 and that the GM DEAL was the difference ($10, 315) is MY REBATE??? Therefore I am using MY REBATE OF $10, 315 as my down payment!!! It's perfectly legitimate and I've done it for years!!!
The sleeze bag comes back out and tells me (like it's the first vehicle I ever bought - I'm 54 years old) the bank wants collateral either in a down payment of cash or some other means! What's the truck - stewed tomatoes???
I thought the $30,000 truck was collateral! It's always been that way on every loan I ever had!
Now he sees I'm becoming pretty heated under the collar and about 2 seconds from knocking this loser on his A*, he has the audacity now to tell me he could sell me a much cheaper truck! What, a Colorado piece of Shi*??
I want to buy the truck that meets my needs not just a truck purchase to enrich the pockets of these losers!!!
I told him to stick the truck and proceeded to leave the dealership! 8-10 hours of driving, 2 tank fulls of gas, and hours of wheeling and dealing, filling out paperwork, I can only say one thing-THESE JERKS ARE A JOKE AND I WOULD STAY AS FAR AWAY FROM THEM AS POSSIBLE!!! They"re running a sleezy scam to sell vehicles when the market is about to go bankrupt!!! I hope it does and gm, ford, and chrysler are history! LETS NOT USE TAXPAYER MONEY BAILING OUT LOSERS!!!
Now we all know why toyota has captured 40% of the market&these three greedy automakers and their sleezy dealers!!!
