Certified Dealer Services
Shady and unprofessional

I received one of these yellow cards in the mail with WARRANY INFORMATION across the top. I called my dealership where I bought my car in 2006. The person that I spoke with told me that they have had over a hundred calls asking about this card.

So I called the 800 number on the card and got a guy who answered "warranty department". I asked "warranty department for what"? He responded in a pissed voice "warranty department". The way that he responded immediately made me angry and I said that he sounded like an a-hole and hung up.

I called back in the hopes of getting someone that I could get some information from and the next guy answered the same way - "warranty department". I told him that I got one of these cards and I wanted to know what they were trying to sell me. He says "I think it's pretty clear, sir" - very snotty. I asked why I got junk mail from them. He says "sir, you get mail from your grocery store, right (or something like that)?" I said yeah, but I know what they are selling (something like that). I again asked what he was selling and he repeated himself. I said "you are a business, right? And I would be the customer, right?" He interrupted me and said "I don't think you would be. I don't think you are the person we want to do business with. (again - paraphrasing)

After some back and forth and not getting any information, I hung up again with harsh words. I was going to just file this away under crappy company. Then I got a call back from the 800 number I had called. The person whispered something to me that I couldn't understand. I told the guy to f-off.

10 seconds later, another call and another whisper. I hung up and called the number back. Got another guy and he acted all surprised that anyone would act that way. He asked me if I wanted to talk to the guy that "helped" me before and I said no way. I asked how many people are working in that office and he told me 15. I told him he better tell everyone that is not a way to run a "business".

The response to the previous person (Ray - I think) who had a problem with this company is a perfect example of the kind of person you will be dealing with if you do business with this company. The company responses to the original poster-

First off!!!
This is how you spell WARRANTY.

(that is what you look for in a company - correcting your spelling) In fact - here is a few paragraphs directly from their web site;

"When a claim rises, simply have your choose* repair shop call to CDS and we will instruct them how to proceed.

While we offer many different levels of extended warranty coverage, not all coverage's* are offered on all vehicles.

All of our underwrites* offer full coverage for mechanical breakdowns as well as wear-and-tear failures. Seals and gaskets are covered as is damage due to the vehicle overheating. You may make an unlimited number of claims and can choose ANY dealer or repair facility of your choice. Claims are paid directly to the repair facility with our corporate credit card."

(notice all of the misspellings - I put * next to them. Also, please notice that they pay with out the claim to the facility with a credit card... Don't know many insurance companies that have to pay with a credit card.)

Second!!!
Your repair facility is in the wrong for submitting a claim and having the area checked off incorrectly. Of course any insurance company out there will deny any claim that is submitted incorrectly.

(I don't know an insurance company that will just deny the claim without clarification. If there is a problem, and someone is paying your "insurance company" for their service, your "insurance company" should allow the problem to be corrected instead of denying it at hand.

Third!!!
Did the repair facilty correct there mistakes and 're submit?'

(Just want to point out that this person is not perfect in the spelling department - It's FACILITY not facilty. It's their, not there! And resubmit does not have a space betweed "re" and "submit"!! Maybe this guy also worked on the web site.)

Fourth!!!
Considering you canceled after the 30 day grace period you were still refunded your money how is that in any way ' Shady'

(Despite the fact that this person got their money back, how are you able to justify that they are still out money on something that they supposedly had insurance on? It is shady simply because you took their money, waited for a claim and denied the claim refunding what most likely is a tiny amount compared to the actual cost of the repair.in other words, you gather lots of fees from suckers - sorry, customers, make money on the interest and then refund a single person their money. Come to think of it, maybe I should start my own "insurance company"...)

Fifth!!!
There is not a warranty out there that is a life time warranty

(Hmmm... There is not a lifetime warranty out there? Really? —

Amazing what a search can find. It's even in the web address. - just google this "company" and see if you can find one positive remark.

Now has anyone that is reading this EVER had a response from a real company like this? The responses just simply remind me of a child.

I have not done business with this "company". But based on my experience today, I would HIGHLY recommend against even calling the number on the yellow card.

(disclaimer - I did use some choice words and some inappropriate language. These guys definately brought it out. I don't regret it and as I don't have actual business with them, I can't say that they are always so incredibly rude and evasive. However, I still would shred this yellow card ANY time I see it and recommend that anyone else who receives one does the same.)

One other ponding thought - They call themselves Certified Dealer Services... Who exactly certified these guys?
