Im reporting regarding the damage insurance ($103.92) that was charged to me during the 7.35 days that I rented a car. I talked to Nate who is one of the sales persons the first time I came in.
He asked me if I want the insurance and I said I dont need one as Im just driving around the area where the Enterprise-Rent-A-Car is. He convinced me to have it by telling me that he can take it out later if I don want it but he did not tell me that I have to call him.
Thats why I did not call him about it because I thought he would take it out when I return the car in good shape. I took his word and signed all the spaces where he asked me to sign in the agreement.
He gave me his name and phone number to call him if I have problems but he did not emphasize if its regarding the damage insurance. Besides, he did not even tell me that I have to shoulder all the damage insurance and that my insurance company (State Farm) will not pay 80% of it.
Thats why I was surprised when I was charged that high. The insurance that I paid was even much higher than the charge of my renting a car. If he really told me to call him for the insurance why did he asked me to write my initials in the space provided for the damage insurance in the contract?
When I came back to return the car I talked to another guy and he asked me to pay the damage insurance because he said I signed the space for it. It's my first time to rent a car with Enterprise and I trusted them so much and I'm not aware of this scam.
I hope other consumer will be aware of this and be careful of choosing rent-a-car companies.
