I had a deal with the owner of City Trans Service named Russel Gauss, in which he would fix my transmission on my new truck i purchased and i would give him my old truck (blue booked at the lowest price of 2,850 retail) as payment for his work. He originally said that he would completely re-build the transmision but then said he would fix what ever was wrong with it and give me some sort of a warranty of his work. I picked up the new vehicle and he said that it was shifting good so i signed over the title of my old truck to him. After i signed the title over to him he then handed me the 4x4 drive shaft to my truck saying that he broke the yoke for the u-joint and said i would have to fix it. Most shops would charge the customers for the part but no labor when a part broke while working on it. I really didnt worry about it at the time. Within 30 minutes of driving my new vehicle it stoped shifting properly. When i got home i went under the truck and the seals between the transmission and transfer case were leaking tranmision fluid. Also multiple transmision lines were leaking. He refused to stand behind his work or follow through with his warranty. The only thing i was able to get out of him was 150 dollars for the 4x4 yoke he broke. I am stuck with a transmission that shifts very poorly, a broken 4x4 yoke, and a mechanic that will not cover any of his work even though he promised he would give me a warrenty for his work. I than talked to a past employee of this company and he said city trans does not replace the gaskets and seals which was the reason my transmission was already leaking transmission fluid. I was frauded out of about 2,000 dollars and have no warrenty on any of the work. This is the worst experience i have ever experienced with any business.
