I brought my VW Jetta into Maven Motors because my driverside power window fell off the track. They replaced some mechanism in the door and charged me $300 (no they didn't even have to replace the window).
When it happened again about 3 months later, this time to the passengerside window, I brought it into the dealership. The dealership told me there has been a recall on the mechanism and that they would replace it free of charge. 1 hour latter it was all done. When I told the dealership I was just charged $300 for the same thing they told me I should contact the repair shop and see if I can get my money back. They said when the repair shop pulled up the part they needed to replace in the database they should have been informed that that part is under recall and I should take my car to the dealership for a free replacement.
Long story short, I contacted Maven and they were unwilling to refund me my money. They claimed they knew nothing about the recall. I even tried to negotiate with them to only pay the labor (which the charged me 2.5 hours for when it took the dealership less than 1 hour) but they were even unwilling to do that. Hopefully, someone will read this and think twice about using Maven Motors.
