Fraudl to update the code for our stereo We left being told we needed a new battery and that we now had a malfunctioning air conditione

Fraud. We went to Westlake Motors at the Thousand Oaks Auto Mall to update the code for our stereo. We left being told we needed a new battery and that we now had a malfunctioning air conditioner. Now the air conditioner makes an awful noise although it ran just fine driving to Westlake Motors. We suspect a scam. We've experienced similar events in the past with this dealer. Beware of them.

We told the service department we only needed our stereo code updated - that's all. As I was waiting, they claimed they had trouble starting the engine and took it upon themselves to jump it. Apparently they were unaware that I was still sitting inside watching them and the car did start without a jump. Then I watched them turn the car off, get the cables and jump it for a quicker start up. They then drove the car around back to service the car.

A few minutes later the tech supervisor, Kai came to say that now the air conditioner was making a "terrible sound" and that they had to jump the car in order to drive it around back and "did you want us to look at any of these problems."

I explained to him that the air worked fine on my way in and that I had watched the technician start the car the first time WITHOUT it having to be jumped, so why did they have to jump it? He denied it and that it wouldn't cost me anything to investigate the problems he found.

I said "just update my code, that's all I want you to do."
He said, "ok fine" and walked away.

He called about an hour later to tell me the code was updated and that I could pick up the car. That's when he added, "By the way, the noise is the air conditioner compressor repair would cost me THOUSANDS of dollars" and that he would have to price it and get back to me. He also said that a new battery (because of supposedly jumping the car) would cost me 165., not including parts and labor. The car was perfect before they got it.

Fix the air compressor that they obviously damaged, or sabotaged. There is a history of every time we have taken our cars in (we bought them there) mysterious new problems and huge dollar amount fixes are needed. We're onto them and want this kind of treatment of there customers to stop. We will sue if necessary.
