I recently booked a limo reservation with San Antonio Limo for an out-of-town bachelorette party and they nearly ruined the evening! We should have known that there would be problems when they called the day of our reservation to increase the price!
Although a map and directions were sent in advance, the limo showed up almost 2 hours late (if 12 girls can find the rental property, then surely one man can too). Their tardiness (and lack of concern) consequently caused us to miss two reservations, as well as start our evening very late. However, we the limo actually arrived. That is until the door opened. The smell of urine was so evident that everyone shuttered. Unfortunatley we didn't have any other alternatives so we shut the door. As we began to drive away, we also realized that only hot air was coming from the vents. We immediately asked the driver to pull over. After checking the A/C and confirming that there was an issue he commented that the smell was from a previous bachelor party (or as he put it "Guys don't know how to ask you to pull over"). He promised to take the car into the shop while we were at dinner. I also called the owner to voice our compliants and request a new car and possible reduction of the total cost. I asked him several times to please do the right thing.
Through dinner we tried to stay optimistic, but again the same car showed up to pick us.By this time, the sun went down so the lack of A/C was at least tolerable (although certainly not the night out on the town that we invisioned). On the way to the next location, we drove with the windows down for some comfort (both from the smell and for the air). Again, I called the owner and he said that he was working on locating another car. So, I tried to stay positive.
Again, we were dissapointed when the same car showed up. This time the driver demaned the remaining balance. Of course, I did not feel that we owed the full amount so I called the owner AGAIN. This time he yelled at me saying that we got a bargain and that I could take it or leave it. When I asked him what that meant - he threatened to have his driver leave the 12 of us (young women all under 30) at night, alone, on the streets of San Antonio — 45 minutes from our rental property. The remaining balance of $140 was certainly NOT going to pay for 4 to 5 cabs to drive 12 girls from San Antonio to New Braunfels. With no other options, we were forced to pay the balance.
San Antonio Limo took advantage of our trust and our money. They abused their power by threatening to leave us in harms way. They mislead us through false advertising (there website shows nice vehicles). I have several emails not only stating the price but also exact pick-up times and locations - there is no mention of a bargain. As far as we were concerned, we booked a full fare reservation with what sounded like a reputable limo company. Do not make the same mistake. This is not a reputable nor ethical company. San Antion Limo's fleet is the worst in the business. Their management and operations are nothing short of thievery.
